John Cena is set to make his long-awaited return to WWE TV on Memorial Day, but he’s already making big news by announcing his next major move. Cena announced today that he will be heading to ABC as the host of this year’s ESPY Awards.
Honored and excited to host the 2016 @ESPYS. Wednesday, July 13 will be a date to remember, I promise that. pic.twitter.com/W86wQtgiIP

Cena has never attended the ESPYS or hosted an awards show, but he has the following to say about the honor:
"They asked, and of course I said yes," Cena said. "It goes without saying it's a tremendous honor. The prestige of the show grows every year. It's unbelievable. I obviously accepted, but it doesn't go without its share of nerves. I just want to do the show justice. I'm going to do my due diligence and hopefully we can have a great show."
The 24th annual ESPYS, will air live on ABC on July 13 (8 p.m. ET) from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.
