WWE could be able to change it's business model once again according to Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com.
In a recent survey issued by WWE Network to subscribers, the issue of accessing weekly television such as Raw and SmackDown was raised. At present, the weekly shows are added on a thirty-day delay while Main Event is added on a two and a half week delay. The reason for this is because WWE have contractual obligations with international broadcasters such as Sky Sports in the United Kingdom.
This of course is most annoying if you live in a country without cable access or can't always catch the shows when they air on broadcast television.
WWE does however have a plan, which might just solve this in offering an additional subscription package which would cost around 12.99 per month, they would offer Raw and SmackDown on a one day delay instead - sound good?
WWE wouldn't make much additional revenue of this price hike as additional revenue made will be sent to their international broadcasters to offset any contractual obligations they have.
It would be a bold move and certainly come with risks - as anybody could potentially buy the subscription package, meaning traditional television audiences could dip.
