PWInsider.com is reporting that TNA Wrestling has received a cease and desist letter from Justin Carnes, an independent wrestler from the state of Ohio who wrestled under the name Krimson, which was an evil clown-type character, and also previously worked as an enhancement talent for TNA Wrestling.
The letter, which was sent last month, is in regards to the Crazzy Steve character and The Decay stable, and claims that Crazzy Steve's performance, mannerisms, face paint, costumes, and red mist have all been lifted from Carnes' past work as Krimson. Furthermore, Carnes also states that he created a stable known as "Dead Wrestler's Society" back in 2010, which Crazzy Steve also ripped off of him during his current time in TNA Wrestling.
The cease and desist letter asks for TNA Wrestling to stop using all of the copyrights that Carnes says he owns and also requests that the company state that they will comply by April 6th, which would have been this past Wednesday. The letter also states that if TNA Wrestling refuses to comply, Carnes may pursue legal action against them.
Crazzy Steve has been with TNA Wrestling since 2014 and is currently one-half of the company's tag team champions with Abyss. As of the initial reports, there is no word regarding what the company plans to do in regards to the letter.
