Charlotte became the new WWE Women's Champion at Sunday night's WrestleMania 32 event by defeating Becky Lynch and Sasha Banks in a Triple Threat Match following interference from her father, WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair, who was in her corner for the match. As previously reported, the reactivated title replaces the WWE Divas Championship, which Charlotte held going into the event and which is now officially retired.
WWE Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon has also offered his official comments on his Twitter page regarding the reactivated WWE Women's Championship:
