WWE held a press conference in Orlando, Florida today officially announcing WrestleMania 33 for the state, to be held on April 2, 2017 at The Citrus Bowl. This will be the second time Orlando has hosted WrestleMania, having held the 24th edition there in 2008, which saw Big Show get knocked out by Floyd Mayweather, The Undertaker defeating Edge to win the World Heavyweight Championship, and Shawn Michaels ending Ric Flair’s career.
In attendance for the press conference were Gov. Rick Scott, Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer and Orange County Mayor Teresa Jacob, WWE Chairman & CEO Vince McMahon, WWE World Heavyweight Champion Triple H, Stephanie McMahon, John Cena, Ric Flair, Charlotte, Ric Flair, The New Day and a number of NXT stars.
