WWE NXT Results 2/24

Welcome to the results from the 02/24/16 episode of NXT, live from the CFE Arena in Orlando, Florida. Tom Phillips and Corey Graves are on commentary.

The show starts with a bang as American Alpha, Jason Jordan and Chad Gable, are out for some tag team action. They will be taking on Blake and Murphy (w/ Alexa Bliss)

American Alpha vs. Blake & Murphy

Gable and Murphy will be starting things off. They lock up and Gable drops Murphy to the floor, putting him in a leg submission. Jordan and Gable exchange quick tags as they beat down Murphy before he reaches a tag to Blake. Blake's first involvement is taking a series of slams to the ground, and he kicks out of a couple of pins. Blake looks like he has the upper hand for a minute but Gable is too quick for him and ends up taking him down with an arm drag. It's been all American Alpha so far, and even when Blake and Murphy look like they might be about to turn things around, Gable makes the two run into each other. We go to a break with Blake and Murphy on the outside.

When we come back, AA still have the upperhand in the centre of the ring. Blake and Murphy manage to turn things around with a massive clothesline that flips Gable over. The former Tag Team champs are now beating down Gable, however frustration seems to be creeping in with some quick pins in the middle of the ring. Gable then recieves a backbreaker from Murphy but kicks out at 2. Gable is isolated in the squared circle just now but nearly steals a win with a roll up. He then fights off Murphy and tags on Jordan. Jordan comes in and clears house with dropkicks and suplexes. AA then hit their double team finisher for the win.

Winners: American Alpha
Time: 11:35

The duo celebrate in the ring as the commentators hype the fact they have defeated former tag team champions and could be next in line for a title shot.

William Regal is backstage. He says in 2 weeks, Sami Zayn will face Samoa Joe in a 2 out of 3 falls match to determine a new number one contender. He then says next week we will see the introduction of a new international NXT Superstar...

Apollo Crews comes out for a singles match. He will be facing Christopher Girard.

Apollo Crews vs. Christopher Girard

They lock up and Girard seems hyped up. He takes down Crews and squares up to him but Crews then takes him out with a dropkick. Girard delivers some uppercuts to Crews and then puts him to the mat with a running uppercut. Girard has Crews in a headlock in the middle of the ring but he eventually fights out, only to run into an elbow and Girard goes straight back for the headlock in the middle of the ring in an attempt to wear him down. Crews eventually gets up and drops Girard onto the mat. Crews takes out Girard and unleashes on him before delivering a big splash in the corner. He eventually manages to score the 1-2-3 with a Toss Power Bomb on Girard.

Winner: Apollo Crews
Time: 5:19

We are now with Bayley and Carmella backstage. Bayley says Carmella will make a great champion one day. Carmella is coming for the title sooner rather than later, but tonight is about getting revenge on Nia Jax and Eva Marie. Bayley is then asked about Asuka's involvement two weeks ago and Bayley believes that it was made clear that Asuka is after the NXT Womens Championship.

We see a clip that was posted on WWE.com of Enzo Amore being attacked by Dash & Dawson in the parking lot outside the performance centre. Big Cass eventually comes out to make the save.

Our next match of the evening is going to be Tommaso Ciampa up against Bull Dempsey.

Tommaso Ciampa vs. Bull Dempsey

Bull struggles to get off his t-shirt after the bell rings and the referee has to help him. Ciampa doesn't look impressed. Bull then does some starjumps before the two go to grapple. Dempsey continues to frustrate Ciampa but he quickly gets the upperhand and gets Bull down to the mat. Ciampa stomps on Bull as he lays on the floor. The fans chant for 'Bullfit'. Tommaso does his best to keep Bull grounded but he manages to fight out. Ciampa does however manage to get the victory by making Bull tap out.

Winner: Tommaso Ciampa

Sami Zayn is backstage and says he is ready for his 2 out of 3 falls match with Samoa Joe and refers to his previous 2 out of 3 falls matches.

Samoa Joe says he has been jumping through hoops to get what belongs to him. NXT is hot because of him. He thinks the announcement is a shame on Sami Zayn as it means he has to suffer twice.

It is time for our Main Event and Nia Jax is out first. Her teammate, Eva Marie, follows to the usual reaction she attracts. Next out is Carmella, and then the Women's Champion Bayley who gets a good reaction.

Bayley & Carmella vs. Eva Marie & Nia Jax

Carmella and Eva start off. Carmella takes it right to her opponent and quickly tags in Bayley. The two deliver a double team suplex Eva kicks out before tagging in Nia Jax. She takes control and hits a headbutt which knocks down Bayley. Eva Marie is tagged back in, and Bayley gets the upper hand now. She tags in Carmella and the two mock Eva as we head to a break.

When we get back, Carmella has Eva grounded in the ring but she manages to deliver a tag to Jax. Jax takes over once more and tags back in Eva. She mocks the crowd as Carmella nearly steals a win with a roll up but she kicks out. Jax is back in the ring now and is trying to wear out Carmella with a bear hug. The heels continue to dominate the match as the crowd chants for Bayley. Carmella eventually manages to get the tag to Bayley and she tags back in Carmella after a collision with Eva. Carmella has Eva in a submission which is broken up by Jax. Jax then leg drops Carmella three times, and Eva tags herself in before going in for the pinfall on Carmella.

Winners: Eva Marie & Nia Jax

We go backstage to see William Regal adressing Finn Balor. He says Finn is quickly approaching the record for the longest NXT Title reign in history. Balor is flattered but isn't sure where Regal is going. The GM goes on to say that there is great debate as to who the best NXT Champion of all time is, and next week we will see Finn Balor vs Neville. Finn says he looks forward to it as we go off the air.
