The Baltimore Sun is reporting that the official cause of death for Axl Rotten has been ruled as an accidental overdose.
The publication is also reporting the unfortunate details surrounding the ECW Original's passing. According to the official police report, the 44-year-old, whose real name was Brian Knighton, was found "unconscious and not breathing" on February 4th inside a bathroom stall in a McDonald's restaurant in the town of Linthicum, Maryland. Knighton had also pulled down the bathroom's infant changing table, upon which drug paraphernalia was found, along with "a broken burnt tablespoon with a crystalline residue." Additionally, police also discovered an unlabelled pill bottle that contained capsules of a "brownish substance," which was suspected to be heroin, on top of the bathroom's paper towel dispenser.
Rotten was officially pronounced dead at the scene at 3:09 PM; however, it remains unknown exactly how long he was in the bathroom before his body was discovered.
