"Iron Mike" Sharpe, who was best-known for challenging then-WWF champion Bob Backlund for the title in 1983 has passed away aged 64. Sharpe had been dealing with a number of health issues in recent years which resulted in him having to use a wheelchair since 2007.
He was a regular of WWF programming throughout the mid-1980s and early 1990s. He was announced and self-proclaimed as "Canada's Greatest Athlete" and also spent some time in New Japan Pro Wrestling.
WrestlingNewsSource.com sends out our deepest condolences to Sharpe's family and friends.
