The Bullet Club turned on AJ Styles during the New Japan Pro Wrestling Dash event in Korakuen Hall in Tokyo, Japan this morning with Kenny Omega now the leader of the group.
This angle was done in order to write Style's out of NJPW upon the news breaking that he Doc Gallows, Karl Anderson, and Shinsuke Nakamura will all be heading to WWE very soon.
It's unknown how the company plans to take the IWGP Intercontinental Championship off Nakamura, but if he is indeed heading to WWE it will need to be done soon. The likely candidate for the strap appears Omega.
NJPW officials were reportedly upset that the news of several of their top names leaving broke before they could play out the angle, Japan is known for it's traditional and tight-lipped approach to storytelling.
While the four men have not signed WWE contracts, they are expected to do so shortly once they finish up existing commitments.
Dave Meltzer reported on today's Wrestling Observer Radio that Styles and Nakamura will most likely not head to NXT, and will be brought to the main roster right away.
