34-year-old Holly Holm of Albuquerque, New Mexico has defeated the previously unbeaten Ronda Rousey for the Ultimate Fighting Championship Women's Bantamweight Title.
Holm is known for being a striking specialist, having been well-trained in boxing and kickboxing. This is a contrast to Ronda Rousey, who is a world class grappler. Rousey won an Olympic Bronze Medal in the art of Judo, as well as holding a 4th degree Black Belt in Judo.
Holm caught Rousey with a kick to the head which knocked Rousey to the ground. She then began to strike Rousey with fists before referee Herb Dean stepped in and stopped the fight in the 2nd round.
Holly Holm now holds a professional mixed martial arts fighting record of 10-0, while Rousey's record is now 12-1.
