According to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Jeff Hardy's name has been tossed around quite a bit behind the scenes in WWE lately.
As seen on this past week's episode of Monday Night Raw, The Hardy Boyz were mentioned during the backstage segment involving The Dudley Boyz, Edge & Christian, and The New Day. WWE also recently did a poll asking fans who they would like to see return to WWE some day and Jeff Hardy was one of the options.
Regarding Jeff Hardy's status with TNA Impact Wrestling, there isn't any word about any problems between Hardy and TNA, but TNA needs to cut costs. Hardy and Kurt Angle are the two highest-paid performers in TNA at the moment and Kurt Angle recently stated in an interview that he will not be re-signing with TNA when his current contract expires. TNA has parted ways with many of their big-name stars over the past couple of years now and Jeff Hardy could be added to that list.
Jeff Hardy was last seen in WWE in late 2009. He was involved in a high-profile feud against C.M. Punk over the World Heavyweight Championship on the Friday Night SmackDown brand. Punk defeated Hardy in a Steel Cage Match where Hardy's WWE career was on the line. Hardy returned to TNA Impact Wrestling in January of 2010 and has been with TNA ever since.
Jeff Hardy is currently a six-time World Champion, having held the WWE Championship once, the World Heavyweight Championship twice, and the TNA World Championship on three occasions.
