Daniel Bryan officially relinquished the WWE Intercontinental Championship on Monday night's edition of Raw from Cincinnati, Ohio. Bryan announced that he was doing so due to the results of a recent MRI he underwent and the fact that it is unknown how long he will be out of action.
As previously reported, Bryan was pulled from in-ring action not long ago due to nagging issues stemming from neck injuries he sustained last year.
Monday night's situation mirrors what took place almost exactly one year ago when Bryan was "stripped" of the WWE World Heavyweight Championship by Stephanie McMahon shortly after WrestleMania 30 due to injury.
As of this report, it is currently unknown what plans WWE may have for the now-vacant Intercontinental Championship.
