WWE Confirms Rey Mysterio's Departure, Details On Where Rey Could Be Headed

WWE sent out a statement confirming that Rey Mysterio Jr has parted ways with the company. A representative confirmed to TMZ that Rey Mysterio is, "no longer under contract to WWE". Rey was not released but instead his contract simply expired. MLWRadio's Court Bauer told TMZ that they would have an exclusive interview with Mysterio on the week of WrestleMania 31 at their website MLWRadio.com.

As for where Rey is headed, it's widely expected that he will join-up with friend Konnan on Lucha Underground. Asistencia Asesoría y Administración (AAA) out of Mexico has announced a press conference for Tuesday in Mexico City where they could possibly announce the signing or return date of Mysterio. AAA's Rey de Reyes event is coming up on 3/15 which is similar to what WWE's King of the Ring was.
