Update on Justin Gabriel's Departure From WWE

Update on Justin Gabriel's Departure From WWE

In an update on Justin Gabriel's departure from WWE, a new report has come out that goes into detail about how exactly the former Tag Team Champion informed WWE officials that he wanted to be released from his contract.

On the Monday of the last Raw before the 2015 Royal Rumble pay-per-view, Gabriel showed up to the arena and was told by WWE officials that he wouldn't be needed for the show. Gabriel decided to leave the arena around mid-way through the day and go sight-seeing, with one source saying that he even went sky-diving, which Gabriel does regularly.

When Gabriel returned to the arena for the show, he was once again told that there were no plans for him. A frustrated Gabriel apparently decided right there on the spot that he would rather just not work for WWE anymore. He booked himself a flight to return home and when he was already on his way home he received a phone call from Mark Carrano, who many fans may know from the Total Divas reality program. Carrano reportedly told Gabriel that he had been booked for a segment on Raw but nobody could find him. Gabriel informed Carrano that he was already on his way home and would not be returning to the company.
