As previously reported, WWE Hall of Famer Jerry "The King" Lawler was recently hospitalized due to complications stemming from diverticulitis.
Multiple sources report that Lawler was hospitalized in his hometown of Memphis, Tennessee and was there through the New Year's holiday. It is currently unknown whether or not he is still in the hospital.
In a further update, multiple sources also report that Lawler's status for Monday night's edition of WWE Raw is now "doubtful" and that he is now not expected to work the broadcast. WWE management has reportedly told Lawler to take the week off to rest and recover.
Lawler's girlfriend Lauryn posted the following message on social media from the hospital on New Year's Eve:
"He's up and awake for the time being, so we decided to put our cute hats on and take some NYE pics of our awesome hospital NYE party! that is until the pain meds kick in again and he's back snoozing away which could easily be when we ring in the New Year!! I sure wish we were able to be with our friends tonight, but honestly I am not hating this one bit not being out with the crazies other than the fact we are in the hospital!! & hey I get to be in my sweats and my hello kitty house slippers #lowkeynight"
On behalf of everyone at WrestlingNewsSource.com, we would like to offer our best well wishes to Jerry Lawler.
