As WrestlingNewsSource.com reported last month, there had been rumors that Ring of Honor higher-ups would begin pulling exclusively contracted talent from the independent circuit in 2015, in a means of continuing to establish the ROH brand. This past Sunday at Pro Wrestling Guerrilla, Adam Cole made a speech to the crowd but didn't say he was leaving, while Kyle O'Reilly dropped the PWG Championship to Roderick Strong.
PWG founder Joey Ryan confirmed on Twitter (see below) that this was both Cole and O'Reilly's final PWG shows, as ROH begins pulling talent from the indies. The known talent this effects include Adam Cole, reDRagon, Michael Elgin, The Briscoes and Jay Lethal. Tommaso Ciampa, who is also under ROH contract was telling fans that he and Cedric Alexander were still allowed to appear. No word on the status of ACH. Roderick Strong has been working without an ROH contract for the past six months.
It shows what PWG means when @AdamColePro delays surgery & wrestles hurt & @ROHOreilly goes an hour on their final show. 2 of the very best.
