WWE Nixes Plans To Have 40-Man Royal Rumble Match In 2015

The Wrestling Observer is reporting that WWE has apparently nixed plans to have a 40-man Royal Rumble Match at the 2015 Royal Rumble event.

Original plans called for WWE to bring in some ECW Originals to take part in the match, which will take place in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, which would bring the total number of participants in the match to 40.

However, WWE officials are now said to have nixed the idea and to instead stick with the traditional 30-man match.
