PWInsider.com reports that former WWE, WCW, and Smoky Mountain Wrestling star "Gigolo" Jimmy Del Rey has died at age 52 after suffering an apparent heart attack Saturday night.
ECW original The Blue Meanie also confirmed the news on his official Facebook page.
In addition to his stints in WWE, WCW, and SMW, Del Rey (real name David Ferrier) also worked some singles matches in ECW. He was also best known as "Jimmy Graffiti" in WCW and "Jimmy Backlund" on the Florida independent scene.
Del Rey was perhaps best known as one-half of the Heavenly Bodies tag team alongside Dr. Tom Prichard, managed by the legendary Jim Cornette.
On behalf of everyone at WrestlingNewsSource.com, we would like to extend our condolences to the family and friends of Jimmy Del Rey.
