WWE Haven't Forgotten About the UK Network Launch It's Just Delayed

The WWE Network was meant to launch in the United Kingdom on Wednesday, October 1st but as announced on WWE's Twitter on Monday it has now has been delayed and no date given, although we'll know by November 1st.

WWE has quite literally ceased to promote the launch of the network in the United Kingdom in recent weeks, which is their second biggest market.

Fans are beginning to get frustrated and rightly so. These untapped fans could mark the "turning point" that the Network needs after a lackluster U.S launch, so you would think promoting it across social media and on television would be the company's number one priority - wrong!

The lack of updates and now delay has lead UK fans to question if they are struggling on what basis to launch it. Let's take Canada for example, instead of offering an online channel, WWE teamed up Rogers Communications and launched the Network as a premium cable television station and while it has drawn criticism for offering a limited library of content it has exceeded the company's expectations.

In the UK up until recently Sky Sports subscribers would get six "free" pay-per-view's and six at £14.95 on Sky Box Office, In January 2014 it was changed so nine were charged at £14.95 on Sky Box Office and three "free" on Sky Sports, In fact Night of Champions was the last "free" WWE PPV, all in preparation for the Network's October 1st launch. Traditionally, the remaining WWE PPV's - Hell In A Cell, Survivor Series and TLC have been on Sky Box office so an October launch would have been a welcomed by British fans however, now with a delay you can bet some fans will be disgruntled.

Now with that said, there are ways and means of accessing the U.S. version of Network via a VPN service and a number of "fake" details, however it's hardly right to endorse such methods, neither is it right for WWE to push their British audience into using this method because they are fed up of waiting or just don't know when the official Network launch is planned.

A number of questions will arise from the news of a delay, it's always disheartening for those who genuinely have been waiting for so long, providing WWE honors their promise of lettings fans know by  November 1st we'll known what form the Network will take for the U.K market. Let's hope the lack of coverage for the launch is because WWE wasn't ready and that the UK fans will get what they have been waiting for.
