Did Alberto Del Rio Foresee His WWE Release?

As we previously reported, WWE released Alberto Del Rio today for engaging in an altercation with an employee. The use of 'employee' may suggest a non-wrestler, agent or producer as altercations between wrestlers backstage have occurred many times over the years without release. 

While his release will come as a shock to many, Del Rio himself might have known that his time with WWE was up. We have received a number of reports from fans who saw him compete on Main Event and said he made a lot of comments in Spanish, and then ended with "Thank you for all your support over the years" almost as if he was saying goodbye.

He did not work the SmackDown taping or today's live event in Melbourne, Australia.

Interestingly, WWE did not end their release statement with the usual wish of luck in his future endeavors and did not mention his real name.
