Earlier this week, it was reported originally by PWInsider that Ricky Steamboat had been released by the WWE due to the ongoing budget cuts. That has seemingly changed. According to PWInsider this time around, WWE have changed their mind. Indy promoters have been in contact with the WWE to tell them that he won't be able to make booked events but would have to contact WWE directly for approval.

To sum it all up, Ricky Steamboat is still with the WWE and will be for the foreseeable future.
