It's being reported that Austin Aries being booked to win the X Division Championship from Seiya Sanada caused a bit of heat between TNA Impact Wrestling and the Wrestle-1 promotion, not necessarily because of Sanada losing, but because of the timing of it all.
Aries beat Sanada for the Title on June 20th but the match didn't air on television here in the U.S. until July 10th. During that time, Sanada was supposed to defend the X Division Title against his mentor, Keiji "Great Muta" Mutoh.
TNA officials contacted Mutoh and the Wrestle-1 promotion and told them that they could have a match where Sanada would successfully defend against Muta because his loss to Aries wouldn't be shown on television in the U.S. until July 10th anyway. However, the word broke out in Japan that Sanada had lost the Title to Aries at the June 20th tapings, thus Sanada wouldn't have really been the Champion for his match against Muta. This resulted in Wrestle-1 getting phone calls and letters accusing them of false advertising.
Wrestle-1 quickly announced that Sanada had lost the X Division Title to Austin Aries, and then Muta ended up defeating Sanada in a non-Title match. TNA officials were upset that Wrestle-1 announced the Title change to their fans and had "spoiled" it.
