WWE Money In The Bank 2014 Results (6/29/14) Boston, Massachussetts

Michael Cole introduces Daniel Bryan. Bryan comes out and the crowd erupts in a loud YES chant. Cole says this must be an emotional time for Bryan and asks how recovery is going and when they can expect him back in a WWE ring. Bryan says he doesn't know when he's going to be back. He still has no strength in his arms and there is talk of another surgery. But promises he will be back and better than ever. Cole asks for Bryan's feelings on a new champion being crowned tonight. Bryan says obviously he'd rather be coming down to the ring and wrestling and much rather be walking down to the ring with the title around his waist but he's been fighting an uphill battle since he started wrestling. But it wouldn't be a Daniel Bryan story without a couple of setback but he will be back and will regain the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Bo Dallas comes out and says he understands Bryan can't compete tonight but life isn't about the destination. It's about the journey. He may not be able to climb the ladder tonight but can still climb the ladder of life and make it back to the top. Bryan says he speaks for the fans when he tells Bo to LEAVE

The question is does he climb up and grab that briefcase or use the ladder to smash Rollins' face. Why not both. Divas Championship: Paige vs Naomi (w/Cameron)

The Funkadactyls were out first, selling that they were on the same page. For now. Paige was out second to defend the Divas Title. Once the bell sounded, Champ and Challenger set a very physical tone to the match, as WWE put two of the best Divas division wrestlers in this spotlight match. Meanwhile, Cameron pretended to offer support for her tag partner. Paige and Naomi went tumbling hard to the floor from the top rope. Back in the ring, Naomi airballed a moonsault, concerning Cameron. Paige then finished off Naomi with a faceplant for the three count. No Wade Barrett, who the announcers noted has been scratched from the match due to injury.

Money In The Bank Contract: Seth Rollins vs Dean Ambrose vs RVD vs Kofi Kingston vs Dolph Ziggler vs Jack Swagger

Ambrose was the last man out and he went right after Rollins as the bell sounded. Rollins took Ambrose over the guardrail to the timekeeper's area to beat him up as the other wrestlers started fighting in the ring. Kofi suddenly found himself alone in the ring. Kofi had to do some serious stalling to allow someone to re-enter the ring and cut him off. It was Ambrose, who shoved Kofi off the ladder and Kofi transitioned in mid-air to a springboard splash onto a pile of bodies ringside. Rollins and Ambrose then started fighting over who was going to climb the ladder. Neither budged, so Ambrose suplexed Rollins into another ladder. Next up were Dolph and Kofi, who found themselves alone in the ring. The duo raced up the ladder, then dragged themselves down the ladder by the hair. Suddenly, Rollins rammed both men in the face with a ladder. But, RVD dropkicked the ladder into Rollins. RVD followed with crisp offense to Ambrose, Swagger, and Kofi, turning back the hands of time for a moment. RVD followed with a Five-Star Frogsplash to Swagger as Zeb sold concern ringside. RVD wanted to climb the ladder and grab the case, but Kofi cut him off. One shot to RVD's gut ended RVD's quest, then Kofi cleared Swagger from the general area. Van Dam and Kofi battled to the top turnbuckle, then Swagger smashed both of them with a ladder. Swagger set up a super ladder, grabbed RVD, and attempted to superplex RVD off the ladder, but RVD felled him. Swagger flat-back bumped, then RVD climbed to the top of the ladder, only to have Rollins cut him off from behind. Swagger resurfaced and super-powerbombed RVD off the ladder. Ambrose re-entered the picture by climbing to the top of the super-ladder to grip Rollins and deliver a huge superplex down to the mat. Great sell from Ambrose, who sold losing feeling in his body, while Rollins sold being completely knocked out or asleep. JBL said the human body was not designed to take that. Suddenly, Ziggler re-entered the ring, but Ziggler ate a ladder, crunching Ambrose. Swagger regained control, then splashed a ladder into Kofi. At 13:00, Swagger climbed a ladder for the case, but RVD blocked. Rollins and Ambrose cleared the ring, then scrambled up the ladder one more time. Big punches to both men, then Ambrose knocked Rollins off the ladder. The crowd popped for Ambrose, but Swagger pulled him down. Rollins then climbed the ladder, but Ambrose cut him off again. Ambrose was selling a left shoulder injury at this point, bringing over the ringside doctor. Ambrose refused to be checked on, squirming like a cat who doesn't want to be picked up. Doctors then pulled Ambrose out of the match, taking him to the back. Back in the ring, Rollins carefully made sure Ambrose was gone, then started to climb a ladder, but RVD cut him off. Kofi then re-entered the scene with another ladder. Kofi set it up like a bridge on the main ladder, then Rollins and Kofi battled near the contract. Suddenly, Kofi back-dropped Rollins off the ladder onto the bridge ladder down below. Rollins crashed and burned, Kofi reached up to grab the case, and Dolph suddenly entered the ring to yank down Kofi, ending Kofi's quest. Reset at 18:00 with the remaining participants battling. Ziggler found himself alone in the ring and decided to climb the ladder looking for the case, but Swagger cut him off. And, slapped on the Patriot Lock for good measure. But, Ziggler decided to use Swagger's submission as a base to climb the ladder before kicking Swagger away. Ziggler hung on the ladder, caught his breath, stared at the case, tried to find his balance, shook off the Patriot Lock pain, got one hand on the case, and took a chair shot to the leg from Rollins. Rollins attacked Ziggler with chair shots, then surveyed the case as the crowd chanted for Ambrose. Rollins started to climb, but Ambrose ran back into the ring to a big pop. Ambrose smashed Rollins with chair shots over and over and over and over and over and over. Ambrose cleared Rollins, then started to climb the ladder with one good arm. Ambrose reached the top of the ladder, and suddenly Kane's pyro shot off. Kane jogged down tot he ring and pulled Ambrose off the ladder, then chokeslammed him. The crowd booed as Kane stood tall over Ambrose, then ended him with a Tombstone Piledriver. Seth Rollins emerged as the last man standing. Brie left, then Stephanie told Nikki to save her explanations.

Money In The Bank WWE Worl Heavyweight Championsip Ladder Match: John Cena vs. Bray Wyatt vs. Sheamus  vs. Roman Reigns vs. Randy Orton vs. Alberto Del Rio vs. Kane vs. Cesaro

As soon as the bell sounded, the crowd picked up a dueling "Let's Go Cena / Cena Sucks" chant. Meanwhile, Cole noted that the title belts are hooked together, so if a wrestler yanks down one, he yanks down both, implying that there will not be a situation where each belt is grabbed by two people. Kane cleared the ring of wrestlers, then scooped up Orton and shoved Orton into the ladder he set up for him. Orton climbed the ladder as Kane held the ladder, but Reigns broke up the tag team effort, sending a ladder into Orton's face. Orton was busted open from the spot and recovered to the outside. Back inside the ring, Cena and Bray Wyatt battled. Suddenly, Cesaro hit the ring and chucked Cena into the air for a pop-up European Uppercut. Cesaro scaled a ladder, but Sheamus cut him off. Bray then crab-walked across the ring and shoved the ladder out from underneath Cesaro and Sheamus, who remained in the air hanging on the belts. Cesaro ended up hanging in the air from the belts until he fell down to the mat. Meanwhile, Orton fought off the medics and returned to the ring with a cut on his head. Orton set up a giant ladder in the middle of the ring, then started climbing towards the title belts, but a gaggle of individuals climbed onto the ladder to end Orton's quest. No one was able to get the advantage during this in-ring battle. The ladder was removed from the equation, then Sheamus cleared the ring with offense, including a Brogue Kick to Cena. Sheamus tossed Orton, then set up the ladder as the crowd sat quietly. Sheamus started to climb the ladder, but Kane dragged him out of the ring by the foot.
The match slowed to a crawl before Cesaro set up a bridge ladder on the giant ladder. Cesaro climbed across the bridge ladder to grapple Sheamus atop the giant ladder for a repeat of their earlier battle. Other wrestlers re-entered the ring to battle, then Reigns power-lifted the giant ladder in the air to about a 65 degree angle. Cesaro hung on, then Cena tilted the ladder back to a normal standing position. Reset at 17:40 with Sheamus getting his hands on the belts, but multiple people dragged him down. Kane set up Orton to climb the ladder again, but Reigns speared Kane, only to take a ladder shot from Orton. Orton wanted an RKO, but Reigns avoided and nailed a Superman Punch. And then one to Sheamus. Reigns went nuts on the outside knocking around anyone he could find, waking up a sleepy match thus far. At 20:00, Reigns was the last man standing. Except for Cena as Hunter stood up at his ringside position. Cena and Reigns came face-to-face in the ring, then Cena looked up at the title belts hanging above them. The fight was on, which Reigns won with a spear on Cena. Reigns then set up a big ladder as Hunter and Steph sold concern ringside. Orton snuck back into the ring to stop Reigns, then he snapped him with a fallaway backbreaker from the middle rung. At 22:00, Orton climbed the ladder as the announcers over-sold this being the end. But, Bray Wyatt suddenly cut off Orton and nailed Sister Abigail to a big pop. Bray started climbing as The Authority contemplated Bray as champion, but Del Rio cut him off. Del Rio superkicked Bray, then scaled the ladder, got his hands on the title belts, took one more step, and then found Sheamus down below to knock him off the ladder before Brogue Kicking him. Sheamus started to climb, but Cesaro cut him off and delivered The Neutralizer. Cesaro climbed the ladder, but Orton cut him off and tossed him into the air for a big mid-air RKO. The Authority popped, jumped to their feet, and told Orton to get the belts. Orton started to climb, but Reigns re-entered the ring and cut off Orton. Orton's head was now cut wide open as the two men battled on the ladder. Reigns smeared Orton's blood, then headbutted the cut to draw more blood. Suddenly, Kane re-entered and chokeslammed Reigns off the ladder. Kane then held the ladder for Orton to start climbing. Orton took his sweet time, allowing Cena to sneak up behind Kane and give him an AA. Cena then yanked down Orton for an RKO into Kane. Cena climbed the ladder, reached the top, grabbed the title belts, unhooked the belts, and he won the match.

The winner of the match and new WWE World Heavyweight Champion: John Cena

Post Match: Hunter sold frustration with hands on his head squeezing his brains together while Steph sold disbelief over the result. Cena then walked down the ladder steps as Hunter continued to hold his head and look down at the ground in disbelief. WWE replayed the end of the match before going to a slow-motion replay of Cena unhooking the belts to win. They also showed Hunter and Steph selling disbelief over the result. Back live, Cena stood in the corner and held the title belts for Hunter and Stephanie to get a good look at. Cena held up the title belts for the crowd as the PPV signed off.
