WNS Column: My top guys in 5 years

Happy Fathers Day, IWC! How are you after this week of wrestling. I’ve decided with the next few articles, I’ll be giving my insight regarding the questions I’ve asked in the last few weeks. If you’re wanting for me to cover an article of a certain topic, be heard in the comments as I take all comments into serious consideration.

The question posted last week was: “In 5 years, who are your top guys in WWE, and why are they your top guys? Who are the stars that carry the company and represent the company the best?

I’ll break this down for whom I have as the main eventers, mid-carders, divas, so on and so forth.

Main eventers: Dolph Ziggler, Seth Rollins, Cesaro, Jack Swagger, Dean Ambrose, Sami Zayn, Bray Wyatt, Daniel Bryan, Damien Sandow, Roman Reigns, Luke Harper, Bad News Barrett, Rusev. Big E

Mid-carders: Tyson Kidd, Tyler Breeze, Bo Dallas, Kofi Kingston, Adrian Neville, Corey Graves, Xavier Woods.

Divas: Charlotte, Natalya, Aj, Emma, Paige, Bayley

Other superstars will more than likely still be around, but these are my picks for the main stars of the future.

In the Main eventers group, I feel that core can be one of the best groups of individuals to carry the company.

Ziggler simply has it all. It's only a matter of time until management gets over whatever problem they may have with him and accept him as a leader for the company.

Rollins is just starting to break out of his shell and the sky is the limit. Little more work on the mic, and you have an excellent future face/heel.

Cesaro is just a stud in so many ways; I wouldn’t be surprised if his time comes this year. Along with Rollins, a little work on his mic skills and he becomes a huge star.

I feel that Swagger will get back up to M.E status and it just needs a rivalry or 2 to bring his relevancy back. This past Smackdown, they even hinted (hopefully) at a Swagger/Rusev feud as Coulter chased away Lana. Could definitely benefit both parties.

Ambrose’s promo this past Monday is the tip of the iceberg for what we’re about to see from this guy. I can’t wait for his time to shine and he will make an excellent crazy heel, and even a baby face. I feel with his personality, heel character works best for him but his face character for now is great, too.

Sami Zayn is just so badass in so many ways that once he steps foot on to the main roster he will continue to climb. I’m drooling at the thought of seeing him in a “Money in the Bank” match style match, or just seeing him wrestle on a primetime spot.

Bray Wyatt is going to be the next Undertaker-like star in this company. If you don’t see it, rub your eyes a little harder, look a little closer at his character and realize that his future is bright and long. He’s unique in so many ways, and I just feel incredibly excited when he’s on screen. He’s captivating on the mic and his wrestling is solidly good.

Bryan will still be here, used more as a veteran-like presence for the younger stars. As long as he remains healthy, he will still be a force in the WWE.

Sandow is in need of a relevant rivalry again to stray away from these idiotic gimmicks (I only laughed at this past Raw’s gimmick). The amount of skill he has on the mic makes him a desirable heel in this business. Reinvent his character, give him a suit and a pissed-off attitude and you have a nasty heel.

Roman Reigns is an all around stud and he continues to climb with each passing week. His mic skills are good and his wrestling is better. I’m excited to see his stardom in the upcoming years.

Harper is someone I feel that can be the next Kane-like character. Guaranteed, fans watching him cut the promo from last weeks Monday didn’t realize he’s quite capable of handling the microphone. His wrestling is exceptionally good, for a man his size also. When the time comes for his single run, I'm sure it'll be successful.

Barrett gets entertaining the more he’s either on the mic or in the ring he’s hitting the bull hammer elbow. Get the IC title off him and get his focus on the WWE World Heavyweight Title and he surely becomes a main eventer in no time. He’s a great face, even when he’s trying to be a heel.

Rusev will become the Umaga of this era of stars, after he’s done squashing jobbers. Him and Lana make a good team together and once they experience a title run of the US or IC title, he will continue to rise. Last but not least,

Big E is my final pick for my main event list. He’s a big man that moves incredibly light on his feet. His strength is intimidatingly noticeable and he will be a force to be reckoned with. To also note, his mic skills are there and they do need some development but if he combines more personality with his character (i.e. Bray, Dean, Bryan etc.) he will be a star.

Mid carders
are all generally grouped together and have similar skills but are all around exceptional stars. They all offer different aspects (from one another) to the ring. They are also stars that could potentially bring relevancy back to titles that have lost relevancy (IC and Us title, along with Tag team).

As for the divas division, I firmly believe the technical wrestling from Charlotte and Natalya, along with the other women can also bring relevancy back to the divas division. It lacks attitude and focus, and it’s the creative teams fault for letting the divas division slide over the last few years.

I feel confident with that post and what the product could become in the developing years. I remember reading somewhere that NXT is purely run and organized by Hunter, along with others while WWE’s Raw/Smackdown is focused by Vince (maybe one of you lovely folk in IWC can find it). Given if that’s the case, I leave you with this week’s question:

If Hunter does in fact run and organize NXT, in your opinion (once Vince steps down from his duties and seemingly hands it over to Hunter) will WWE’s program have more success and popularity with its fans once HHH is in complete control of the product, rather than what we’re getting right now.

I have a fair bit to say for this, but it’ll have to wait till next week!

Stay classy, IWC

Quinn
