TNA Impact Wrestling star Ethan Carter III recently spoke to WebSportsMedia.com's Main Event Radio.
Coming to TNA: An opportunity is all I need. If I’m given an inch, I’ll take a mile. I was given more than an inch and I’ll be taking more than a mile. People that were over in the company [TNA] were very fond of my work that was seen, more-so than the people that were working for the company I worked for prior [WWE]. They were very interested in having me and I was very interested in going there and proving myself. I think it was a match made in heaven.
Dewey Barnes and Norv Fernum: They are two top-tier athletes. Two of the best in the world at what they do. Whether that’s putting on a singlet and kickpats or having tattoos. As far as our long-storied rivalry, it was there to build me. But in the essence of building me, they made themselves useful and made it entertaining. A squash match is a squash match but to add an entertainment value to it; it takes two to tango. Those two guys are both very good and they had the opportunity to show themselves and I’d like to see more of them.
Input on his character: The ability to believe who I am and what I’m doing, and I believe that is what makes a character stand out or makes it succeed or fail. Because it’s an extension of myself.
Working with Sting: As a young little Carter growing up in the little Carter household, Sting was a guy I looked up to. The ultimate babyface, many years of just watching him. When that opportunity came about to stand toe-to-toe with him was awesome. As far as our promos to each other, me being able to talk and interact at the level with one of the top guys ever. I wish we had more time in the ring to be honest. I’d love to tangle with him one more time. I got two pinfalls, two of the most devastating schoolboys you’ll ever see. Do not turn your back to me, because I will pin you.
Kurt Angle: EC3 would like to believe that he has personally retired Kurt Angle. He is one of the best of all-time and it is an amazing opportunity to be in the ring with him. To be able to crash the Hall of Fame ceremony. As far as his return to the ring, I cannot wait. At Lockdown I talked about how that is my dream match and in reality it is my dream match and I can’t wait to have it.
Other guys he would like to face: Bobby Roode has been able to make a name for himself in this business by staying loyal to this company. I respect the hell in what he does and it would be great to face him.
Magnus is the champion and if you don’t want to be the champion you gotta get out, so I would like to take it to him. Samoa Joe, because of the physical presence he brings to the ring. Dewey Barnes and Norv Fernum, I’d like to face them a few more times. I can make a career off of that.
Abyss and the kind of chicanery and violence he brings to the ring. I have the ability to do that but I’ve never had the chance. So I think if it could open people’s eyes and be very exciting for our fans and for me.
World Championship: It’s my top goal as it should be. Right now though it’s too soon just because I have so much unfinished business with Willow [Jeff Hardy], Kurt Angle. I have to build some credibility and I need to get through them before I can hold the championship and feel it’s right.
