Michelle Beadle Confirms Backstage Incident With A.J. Lee

We reported earlier today that there was an incident involving WWE Divas Champion A.J. Lee and NBC personality Michelle Beadle during WWE's Tribute to the Troops taping last week. Lee reportedly got upset that Beadle was talking with her boyfriend CM Punk backstage at the event.

Today Beadle didn't believe Lee was serious with her WWE character-like outburst and responded to a fan "You should have slapped AJ Lee when she got in your face," Beadle wrote, "Meh. I thought it was a joke."

In a follow up tweet Beadle told an upset A.J. Lee fan: "Hon...it was done in front of company people. I didn't say a word. I thought it was a joke."

Wrestling Observer editor Dave Meltzer reports WWE officials were deeply embarrassed by the whole situation and Lee is expected to receive some kind of punishment for her outburst.
