WrestlingNewsSource.com must pass along the sad news that WWE Hall of Famer Maurice "Mad Dog" Vachon has passed away. SLAM! Wrestling reports that the 84-year-old passed away in Omaha, Nebraska at 4:00 this morning.
According to the report, Vachon had most recently been battling with memory issues. He also had not been in very good health, with much of it stemming from being the victim of a hit-and-run in 1987 which resulted in Vachon's leg having to be amputated.
Vachon's death was confirmed by both his wife, Kathie, and his brother, "The Butcher" Paul Vachon. Kathie Vachon was quoted as saying that the death of "Mad Dog" was "very peaceful" and that she would know more information regarding funeral arrangements later this afternoon and expected that the funeral would take place in Nebraska early next week.
Paul Vachon was quoted as saying the following to SLAM! Wrestling: "This is not a pleasure call. I just wanted to call and let you know first that my brother Mad Dog passed away this morning."
We here at WrestlingNewsSource.com would like to extend our condolences to the family and friends of Maurice "Mad Dog" Vachon.
