In another update on TNA Impact Wrestling possibly being up for sale by the Carter Family, it's now being reported that out of the two leading candidates to possibly buy the company, the lesser of the two has backed out, which means that the party that was most interested is still a potential candidate to purchase the company.
However, it's also being reported that no new developments have come about and that even if this party is still interested, the negotiations may have gone cold.
Regarding this party and what exactly the terms of the deal would be, it's being reported that the Carters initially only wanted to sell a portion of the company and they would remain majority owners, but the interested party would like to have total ownership over the company. A huge factor would be how much money the Carters would ask for in exchange for total ownership.
Another key component in the situation is TNA Founder Jeff Jarrett. It's being reported that Jarrett might be playing a big role in the negotiations and he would probably gain back a lot more power if the deal does end up happening. It's been well-documented over the past couple of months that Jarrett has been slowly regaining more and more of the power that he once had backstage now that Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff are gone.
