Backstage Talk About John Cena's Return: Original Plans, Match w/ Del Rio

John Cena's early return to action is being attributed to the fact that he simply was not as seriously injured as his doctors originally suspected. Cena was supposed to be out until January but with his injury being not very serious and WWE's desire to make the upcoming Hell in a Cell pay-per-view as big as possible, the decision was made to go ahead and bring him back sooner.

WWE officials actually knew last week that they were going to bring Cena back for Hell in a Cell, but the decision to put him against Alberto Del Rio for the World Heavyweight Title wasn't made until some time over the weekend.

Regarding the Cena-Del Rio match, as of right now the plan is for it to be a regular singles match and not be contested within the confines of the Cell.
