Backstage News on Paul Heyman/Ryback "Proposal" Angle From Raw

It's being reported that the Paul Heyman proposing to Ryback angle on Raw this week was done because of WWE Chairman Mr. Vince McMahon. He wanted an interesting angle to draw viewers away from ESPN's Monday Night Football game during halftime. He told the creative team to come up with something interesting for that timeslot and one of the writers came up with the idea.
