WWE RAW Results (4/23)

We are live in Detroit for Raw and we kick things off with Teddy Long in the ring. John Cena comes out and Teddy Long announces Brock Lesnar. John Laurinaitis comes out and says Brock is not here and John Cena shouldn’t be in such a hurry to sign the contract. Laurinaitis tells Long to tell John Cena to leave his ring. Cena leaves and Laurinaitis welcomes everyone to Raw and out comes Edge. Edge came out to talk to John Cena but he came to talk to the John Cena who was his greatest rival. The John Cena who came out in his TLC match and chucked him through a table.  Edge says he can’t lose. He has to find that John Cena. Edge says Brock Lesnar doesn’t give a damn about anything other than lining his pockets. Edge tells Cena to wake up and not give up because it’s a slap in the face to guys like Shawn Michaels, Edge, and Undertaker. He’s not asking, he’s telling Cena to beat Lesnar and leaves

Chris Jericho vs Kofi Kingston

Jericho and Kingston lock up and Jericho has Kingston in the corner. Irish whip reversed by Kingston and Kingston with high flying move and Jericho’s outside. Kingston goes for a suicide dive but  Jericho moves out of the way. Kingston working over the arm reversed by Jericho and a thumb to the eye by Jericho. Irish whip  a knee into the corner by Jericho.  Side headlock by Jericho. Irish whip, leapfrog and elbow to the jaw by Kingston.  Irish whip by Jericho, Jericho charges and hits the turnbuckle. Jericho to the outside and Kingston with the suicide dive

Reverse chinlock by Jericho and Kingston with elbows to Jericho and Kingston for the cover and a 2 count. Jericho with a spin kick to the back of the head going for the cover and a 2 count. Jericho with the surfboard. Kingston to his feet trying to fight out but Jericho with a knee and a bulldog to Kingston. Lionsault but Jericho misses. Sunset flip and a 2 count. Reverse knife edge chops by Kingston, Kingston off the ropes and Jericho with the clothesline. Kingston off the top with a flying crossbody. SOS by Kingston and 2 count. Off the ropes and crossbody to the small of the back. Kingston with the boom drop, Trouble In Paradise, countered by Jericho, looking for The Walls, countered by Kingston. Kofi with a springboard. Jericho hits the Codebreaker and locks The Walls Of Jericho

Josh Matthews interviews CM Punk and asks what gift Jericho gifted CM Punk and Punk shows Josh a basket of whiskey and tells Matthews to take the basket and go knock himself out n have a good time

Lord Tensai vs R- Truth

Tensai, kicks Truth and drops an elbow on him. Irish whip but Truth gets his boot up. Tensai charges but Truth moves out of the way, Tensai shoulderblock and headbutts in the corner.  Suplex by Tensai, off the rope and comes down hard on Truth and he hits the Baldo Bomb on Truth. Truth pulling himself up, and Tensai spits the mist the eyes and locks the Claw on Truth and drives his head into the mat for the 3 count

Kane says this Sunday is his favourite night because it’s the night where WWE gets Extreme which means bad things for Randy Orton. He found out at Wrestlemania he can’t beat Kane with rules. He says Orton’s struggling with his humanity because Kane’s discovered his one true weakness. When he attacked Orton’s father it was Randy who suffered. He says Orton is not a man, he’s not a Viper, he’s a scared little boy crying out to his father in the middle of the night. Praying for the nightmare and the monster to go away. Kane says he’s the nightmare and monster that Orton will never wake up from. Orton says once Kane messed with his family there’s no turning back. Orton then closes Paul Bearer in a freezer. Kane says his true father has always been the Devil so he could care less what Orton does to Paul Bearer he has no intention of saving him. Kane leaves and Orton comes out and attacks Kane

Great Khali and Big Show vs Alberto Del Rio & Cody Rhodes

Rhodes goes for the knee but Khali chops it down and powers Rhodes in the corner and hits a clothesline. Rhodes going for the knee but Khali chops him down and Rhodes slides out of the ring. Rhodes tags Del Rio and goes after the leg. Khali pushes Del Rio into the ropes and clotheslines him. Khali with Del Rio in the corner and a big slap across the chest

-Commercial-

Khali and Del Rio are both down and Show tags in mowing Del Rio down with clotheslines. Irish whip into the corner. A back splash and Show off the ropes but Rhodes pulls the ropes down and Show topples over the top. Rhodes goes after the injured knee and the referee counts Show out but Show makes it in at 9 and Del Rio on the attack. Tag to Rhodes and he goes after the leg. Del Rio back in continuing the attack and 2 count. Del Rio tags Rhodes and Rhodes weakening the knee. Del Rio back in locking the leg. Rhodes back in off the ropes and a chokeslam but Rhodes with the chop block and Rhodes locks the figure four on Show. Show breaks out and Del Rio back  in and he clotheslines Del Rio. Del Rio leaves, Khali with the chop and Show with the chokeslam and 3 count

Chris Jericho says CM Punk has been drinking and therefore should be stripped of the WWE Title. Eve agrees and John Laurinaitis says he’ll take the appropriate actions. Jericho says Laurinaitis should get some of the security and have Punk take a sobriety field test. Laurinatis then asks what Teddy Long thinks and Teddy Long disagrees with Laurinaitis’ decision

Josh  Matthews spots Brock Lesnar and asks where he’s been and Lesnar puts him up against the WWE van then tosses him

Beth Phoenix vs Nikki Bella

Nikki and Beth lock up and Beth powers Nikki down. Beth tosses Nikki by the hair, dropkick by Nikki and Beth takes control again shoulderblock in the corner. Nikki kicks Beth away and climbs up to the top. Beth picks Nikki up and military press slam choking her out on the ropes and a cover of 2. Reverse chinlock by Beth. Nikii fights her way out and Beth pushes her into the ropes and a side slam. Submission hold by Beth and Nikki with elbows to the side of the head. Glam Slam but Nikki escapes and Nikki tosses Beth by the hair, the cover and 2 count. Beth throws Nikki to the outside and follows her as the Lumberjills look on and Brie gets into Beth Phoenix’s face and Beth pushes her down and Brie goes after Beth as the rest of the Lumberjills toss Nikki back in. Roll up and Nikki Bella scores the three count

Teddy Long informs CM Punk of the Field Sobriety Test and Punk refuses saying it's insulting and he's Straight Edge he doesn't drink

Teddy Long and officers are out in the ring and Jericho comes out to make sure that this is done right and should Punk fail he will be stripped of the title and be subject to further discipline. Punk comes out and says this whole thing is ridiculous. He knows it, Long knows it, Laurinaitis knows it and the whole WWE Universe knows it. Punk then is asked to recite the alphabet backwards and purposely messes up then he’s asked to walk the straight line but stalls. The cops then determine Punk is intoxicated and Teddy Long forces Punk to surrender the title but Punk recites the alphabet backwards then walks the straight line and attacks Chris Jericho.

Sheamus and Henry lock up and side headlock by Sheamus and Henry with shoulderblock. Powerslam by Henry countered by Sheamus and Sheamus punches Henry. Henry punches Sheamus but Sheamus moves out of the way and pounds on Henry. Daniel Bryan pulls Henry off and dares Sheamus to hit him and Sheamus turns around and gets mowed down by Henry and Henry with the three count.

The winner of the match: Mark Henry!!!!

Daniel Bryan takes the referess shirt off and throws it at Sheamus and leaves but Sheamus brings him back in and Bryan attacks Sheamus and puts the Yes Lock on Sheamus.

Sheamus says all Daniel Bryan did was hide behind a ref's shirt tonight and this Sunday he better pray

Santino Marella & Zack Ryder vs Primo & Epico

Armdrag by Ryder and another but Epico counters and 1 count. Armbar on Ryder and an elbow by Epico. Clothesline into the corner and Ryder hits the Broski Boot. Ryder sets up for the Rough Ryder but Primo pulls Epico out and Ryder goes after him but Primo and Epico attack Ryder and back in the ring it’s Epico in control. Tag to Primo and Primo with chinlock on Ryder. Slam by Primo and springboard backflip onto Ryder. Ryder tags to Marella. Hiptoss and the diving headbutt. Cobra onto Primo and the three count

Kane is walking backstage and finds Paul Bearer and he pulls him out and says he’s safe from Kane and Kane wheels him back into the freezer

Primo, Epico and Rosa are backstage and Abraham Washington approaches them and offers his services

Hornswoggle & Brodus Clay vs Jack Swagger  & Dolph Ziggler

Hornswoggle kicks Ziggler and Ziggler kicks him down and stomps on him. Ziggler picks him up and Hornswoggle counters sending Ziggler to the outside. Headbutt to Ziggler. Suplex to Swagger and Vickie gets in and slaps Brodus.

John Laurinaitis comes out and says it’s the first pay per view of the new era of People Power and he’s excited about the match between Brock Lesnar and John Cena. He then introduces “the new face of Raw”. John Cena’s music plays but there’s no Cena and Brock tells “Little Johnny” to come out. Lesnar then says he’s flown out to sign a contract and this guy doesn’t show up.  Lesnar then explains why he was late. And tells Laurinaitis they have business to discuss. Lesnar then says he wants changes made. But since he’s been back he’s not happy with how things have been going and wants small requests. And he wants these changes now.

1. Any thoughts Laurinaitis has about Lesnar he’s going to have to run them by Brock first
2. He wants Vince McMahon’s private jet
3. He’ll show up on Raw when he wants and how he wants
4. He wants to be paid more money

Until these demands are made, Lesnar says the match Sunday won’t tale place. And if he’s to be the face of Raw. It’s no longer Monday Night Raw. It’s Monday Night Raw starring Brock Lesnar. Laurinatis agrees and Lesnar signs and out comes John Cena. Lesnar tells Cena to sign the contract and tells him he’s scared. He can feel it. Cena signs it and they stare each other down as Lesnar leaves the ring
