Rey Mysterio is set to returning to WWE programming on the upcoming SmackDown 1000 episode which takes place on Tuesday, October 16 from Washington D.C. at the Capitol One Arena, according to PWInsider.
As recently reported, Mysterio is reported to have signed a new 2-year deal with WWE with the stipulation that he can give notice at the 18-month mark of his contract. The fact that he is also returning on SmackDown 1000 could also suggest he is remaining with the blue brand.
Mysterio has been featured on WWE programming a little over the last year, with one-time appearances and his first taking place as a surprise entrant in the Royal Rumble match in January. He then also appeared at The Greatest Royal Rumble from Saudi Arabia in April. Mysterio is also confirmed as a pre-order character for the upcoming WWE 2K19 video game.
WWE is really looking to make SmackDown 1000 a historic event and Mysterio will be the latest of several times expected to return on the historic broadcast.
