Big Match At WWE Extreme Rules Canceled?

On tonight’s edition of WWE Monday Night Raw, General Manager Kurt Angle announced that the big “multi-man match” that was announced last week for the upcoming WWE Extreme Rules event would no longer be taking place.

Angle stated that he had received a phone call from Monday Night Raw Commissioner Stephanie McMahon stating that there were “contractual snags” in Universal Champion Brock Lesnar’s contract, causing Lesnar to pull out of the deal. The match would have seen the winner of that match challenge Lesnar for the title at a later date. That “later date” is highly expected to be August’s SummerSlam event.

Angle further stated that he would take a potential singles match between Roman Reigns and Bobbly Lashley At Extreme Rules “under advisement.” Reigns and Lashley were last week advertised for the Extreme Rules “multi-man match.”

A Facebook post from Paul Heyman was also referenced, in which he claimed that Lesnar would instead be focusing on “other ultimate opportunities” until WWE was able to provide a more suitable challenge for Lesnar and the Universal Championship.
