WWE Possibly Reviving an Old Pay-Per-View Event

According to a report from WrestlingNews.co, WWE might be planning on bring back the Great American Bash pay-per-view.

As many fans will recall, The Great American Bash was originally an NWA/WCW pay-per-view, and WWE used the name as well from 2004-2009, although the last one in 2009 was officially shortened to simply "The Bash". There was also a special Great American Bash-themed episode of SmackDown back in the summer of 2012, which was headlined by a 20-man Battle Royal to determine who would get to be the special guest General Manager for the following week's episode of SmackDown. The Battle Royal was won by Zack Ryder.

WWE recently filed a new trademark for the name, which was defined as being for:

“Entertainment services, namely, a show about professional wrestling; entertainment services, namely, the production and exhibition of professional wrestling events rendered live and through broadcast media including television and radio, and via the internet or commercial online service; providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network; providing information in the fields of sports and entertainment via an online community.”
