Goldberg has responded to those on social media who criticized his performance on Monday's WWE Raw against Rusev by saying he doesn't care what people think "it's been 12 years, bro" during a Live Q&A conducted at ESPN in Connecticut:
"I don't care, man. With social media everyone sees that stuff. Here's the thing... its been 12 years, bro. It's literally the second time I've stepped inside the ring, it's no excuse, it happens and it is what it is. At the end of the day it made it look like more of a real fight and... I’m a perfectionist, so all you guys out there on social media you can kiss my butt, because there's nothing you can say to make me feel any worse than I'm making myself feel."
The WCW legend added:
"I hold myself to an extremely high standard, and it’s a standard that can never be reached. It’s unattainable, but it drives me to try to be my best in everything that I do and if I please myself, then I hope that the fans will be pleased. The problem is that I’ll never please myself."
