WWE SMACKDOWN LIVE - OCTOBER 4, 2016

WWE Open.

Tonight, the three wrestlers involved in the World Title match at No Mercy will go face-to-face-to-face.

Smackdown opened with the lights going out and Bray Wyatt’s music playing. He came to the ring, lantern in hand. And he’s scheduled for a match.

BRAY WYATT VS KANE

The graphic for Wyatt vs. Randy Orton at No Mercy was shown. On Kane’s entrance graphic, they gave his hometown as Knoxville, Tennessee. Kayfabe is dead. Kane responded to a Wyatt attack with a series of right hands in the corner. A jaw-breaker allowed Kane to break free from a rest-hold. Senton from Wyatt missed. Sidewalk slam by Kane. DDT followed. Wyatt countered a chokeslam with a uranage and hit a senton. As Wyatt did his spider walk, Randy Orton showed up on the Titan-Tron…upside down. He said he’s looking at the world the way Wyatt sees it. And at No Mercy, he’ll turn Wyatt’s world rightside-up. The screen normalized and Orton said he can play Bray’s game better than him. Orton asked Wyatt to come catch him. Kane knocked Wyatt out of the ring with a right hand. Wyatt voluntarily took the count-out loss

The winner of the match: Kane

Backstage: Baron Corbin is challenged to a match by Jack Swagger

ALEXA BLISS VS NIKKI BELLA

Alexa Bliss is out followed by Nikki Bella, but the thunder is stolen by the fact that Carmella is joining the commentary table. Alexa Bliss takes down Nikki Bella and taunts her, but is tripped up by Nikki, who follows up with a knee to her head followed by a couple of dropkicks. Bliss rolls outside, and Nikki follows her out, before barrelling her onto Carmella. Nikki then takes the fight back into the ring, where the match is broken up by an incensed Carmella, who attacks her from behind.

The winner of the match by DQ: Nikki Bella

ALEXA BLISS AND CARMELLA VS NIKKI BELLA AND BECKY LYNCH

Daniel Bryan makes the tag team match during the break and we return to the sight of Carmella and Alexa double teaming Nikki and beating up on her.

Carmella then takes the punishment to her by hitting a variation of the Bronco Buster on Nikki, before tagging in Alexa, who does her bit to target the attack on Nikki's surgically repaired neck.

Carmella then tags in and goes after Nikki, who gets out of the way and makes the hot tag to Becky. Becky comes in and takes the attack to Alexa, who was also tagged in by Carmella, but the action is headed off by Carmella who looks to interfere.

Nikki Bella floors Carmella with a spear, but Alexa takes advantage with a splash off the top rope to pick up the upset win over Becky!

The winners of the match: Alexa Bliss and Carmella

Daniel Bryan is out with 5 women from the 'More than Pink' movement who have fought Breast Cancer, and makes introductions to the crowd. He asks the crowd 'Aren't these women heroes?' and 'Aren't these women champions?', for which the audience responds with loud Yes! chants.  Bryan then gives each of them a SmackDown women's championship belt, before closing out the segment with Yes! Chants.

Backstage: Bray Wyatt is shown looking for Orton backstage, and finds himself in a room with a rocking chair. Out of nowhere, as his wont, Orton closes the shutter from behind and locks Wyatt in. Wyatt is shown, through a camera set up in the room, screaming that 'Walls cannot hold me in!'

HYPE BROS VS THE VAUDEVILLAINS

Slam by Rawley to Gotch. Ryder goes after the arm but Gotch escapes. The Ascension make their way out to get a closer look. Ryder not fazed by the distraction continues to go after Gotch. Gotch turns the tables and The Vaudevillains double team Ryder. Suplex by English to Ryder. English with a knee to back of the neck and Gotch with a big boot to the side of the face. Right hand by English.

Tag to Gotch and the double team once more. Rawley back in with a fireman's carry. Big boot takes out Gotch and the Hype Bros deliver the Hype Ryder for the three count

The winners of the match: The Hype Bros

Up Next: Miz TV

MizTV

Miz and Maryse are in the ring and Miz welcomes everyone to MizTV and a Dolphumentary. Dolph Ziggler makes his way out as the announcers plug Ziggler's appearance on Talking Smack following Smackdown Live

Miz says tonight the stakes are high as it is his Intercontinental Title against Ziggler's career but it won't be one that's forgotten and rolls the Dolphumentary

Ziggler says if Miz says one more thing about his career, Ziggler will slap him and says it's the fans that keep him going. Ziggler says the WWE Universe are the reason he became WWE Champion and that's why he can't walk away but he's come to a crossroad and if he can't deliver then he doesn't belong here. Ziggler says he will deliver and will take the intercontinental title and Miz won't take Ziggler's career way ever and all things must come to an end but he's not done yet

Miz says he is done and to say goodbye to that 5 year old in the front row because Ziggler's career will be over because of Miz. Miz then introduces 2/5 of The Spirit Squad.

Spirit Squad do a cheer and Miz taunts Miz even more. Ziggler is ready to fight until The Spirit Squad attack him from behind but it's Ziggler who gets the last laugh clearing the ring of the Squad. Miz follows avoiding a superkick as we go to break

JASON JORDAN VS JEY USO

Jordan goesa after Jey. Jey turns the tables snapping the neck off the top rope. Jey with knees to the back keeping Jordan grounded. Irish whip into the corner reversed by Jordan into a roll up for the three count

Backstage: Bray is sitting in a rocking chair waiting for Orton as we go to commercial

JACK SWAGGER VS BARON CORBIN

Swagger goes after Corbin's leg. Waistlock on Corbin and Corbin with an elbow. Shoulderblock to Swagger. Swagger works over the arm.

Corbin gets floored. Swagger backs Corbin into the corner. Corbin with a right hand. Corbin unloads on Swagger.

Corbin in control but Swaggers turns the tables locking the Patriot Lock in forcing the submission. Swagger exits the ring as an irate Baron Corbin looks on

The winner of the match: Jack Swagger

AJ Styles is out first (announced to the ring, upon his own request, as the 'Face that Runs the Place') and gloats about his achievements thus far in the WWE to the audience.

He says that he will beat both Dean Ambrose and John Cena at No Mercy, but is interrupted by Ambrose before he can complete the sentence. Ambrose is livid, and starts off trolling AJ Styles, before turning his ire onto John Cena.

He slates John Cena for interfering in their match-up last week, but is cut short by the Leader of the Cenation, who comes out to a loud, yet typically polarizing, reaction.

But before he can say a word, Styles tells him to shut up and says Cena shouldn't even dare to put his name next to that of Ric Flair. But before he can reply, Ambrose gets in on the act and calls Cena out in a promo that cuts extremely close to realism.

His words were something along the lines of Cena being a political figure in the WWE that plays 'suck-ass' behind the scenes to become a 'bonafide superstar', and that he would much prefer being real and just Dean Ambrose.

Cena has had enough and goes after Ambrose and nails him with an Attitude Adjustment! AJ Styles hits John Cena with the Phenomenal Forearm! Dean Ambrose recovers sufficiently to hit AJ Styles with the Dirty Deeds on the steel ramp as he is backing up with the Title. Ambrose closes out the show holding up the WWE Title high!
