You may have thought your eyes deceived you when you visited the homepage of Google.com today, but fear not you just saw the world's biggest search engine pay respect to a wrestling legend.Â
El Santo, is the subject of the latest Google Doodle. For those of you who do not know it would have been the 99th birthday of the man credited with popularizing wrestling in Mexico, Rodolfo Guzmán Huerta. He had a career which spanned nearly five decades, during which he became a folk hero and a symbol of justice for the common man through his appearances in comic books and movies.
He was laid to rest in 1984 aged 66 in his iconic silver mask.
