WrestlingInc. received a number of photos of increased security at last night's WWE NXT event in Venice, FL. The fan who posted the photos online noted that security were searching bags with metal detectors and patting fans down as they entered the arena, something which has not really been done at an NXT event before. Note: This was a much smaller event than Brooklyn which is a bigger arena and subject to more checks.
It is likely WWE were made aware of a credible ISIS attack threat against them in the last few days and it only went public today. The threat was uncovered by hacking activist group Anonymous on The Phillips Arena in Atlanta, the site of tomorrow night’s WWE Survivor Series Pay-Per-View.
WWE noted the event is going ahead as planned while the FBI investigate the full credibility of the threat.Â
There will no doubt be increased security and searching at the arena tomorrow so it may be worth getting their earlier to pass these checks.
