WNS Exclusive Interview With The Natural Chase Stevens

WNS: Hello everybody and welcome to another WrestlingNewsSource.com exclusive! Today, I am joined by former TNA superstar, NWA Tag Team Champion, former WWE grappler and current Global Force Wrestling star, "The Natural" Chase Stevens! That's quite the list Chase! Thanks for joining me today. So let's get the ball rolling. You have been around the wrestling game a long time now. Do you still love the business as much as when you first stepped inside the ropes?

STEVENS: The sport has definitely changed since the first time I stepped into the ring. I still enjoy it today just as much as I did 18 years ago when I had my first match. I think alot has been done in todays wrestling but I see a big change happening right now that will affect the sport in a positive way for the future. Lots of new things coming up for the near future and I'm  excited to be a part of that history.

WNS: Obviously a lot of TNA fans will know you as one half of The Naturals. How was it you ended up becoming a tag team specialist?

STEVENS: I've always been a tag team wrestler since I first started. Ive studied the best there is in all forms, from the Road Warriors ring entrance to Rock and Roll Express and the way they could get the people involved to the point of being in tears, wanting to help them. I feel I have mastered the art of tag team wrestling. Its sad because today there isnt much tag team wrestling on TV and the few that are arent specialist and dont know the true art. There are very few people still wrestling today that understand and have mastered that art.

WNS: Alongside your tag team accomplishments, you are also a former NWA Heavyweight Champion. As a wrestling purist who understands the history and significance of that championship, that must have been a satisfying moment for you.

STEVENS: It was, we held the tag titles on 3 different occasion. The greatest and most memorable was winning them with Chris Candido as our manager and his passing a few days later. Knowing that his last time in the ring he was on National TV and getting to take the mic and go out like a true professional only dreams of.

WNS: Let's talk about TNA. As a former employee, what was it like working there?

STEVENS: I had a good time. I was with them from the start so its nice to know you're  part of something and watching it grow to the company it is today. Does it still have hiccups? Yes but they are surviving and providing an alternative for todays market of wrestling.

WNS: You were recently announced as part of the Global Force Wrestling roster. What can we expect from you during this new chapter of your career?

STEVENS: Im in the best shape of my life and in my prime. Back tagging with my good friend and long time tag partner Cassidy Riley forming a new team called W.A.R Warriors And Renegades. Be on the lookout for us to fly to the top of the wrestling scene quickly.

WNS: Where can the fans catch you performing in the near future?

STEVENS: Im everywhere. Im all over the United States and traveling like its still the territory days so you never know where Ill pop up. The end of the year is going to be a big time for me. Lots of good things are coming up.

WNS: Back in 2007/08 you had a couple of try out matches alongside Andy Douglas. How was your experience with the company and do you feel you received a fair shake?

STEVENS: I had a good time in WWE. Many of the guys are personal friends of mine so it was nice to get time with them. We didnt agree at the time on things and didnt sign with WWE. I feel like I made the right move. The world is prone to WWE so everyone wants to know when you're going to make it and sign with WWE. I want to be the guy that doesnt sign and makes a name for himself. I feel I have accomplished that. WWE is doing well today but at the time they weren't doing what was right for business and it was showing all over the world.

WNS: If the chance ever came calling could we see "The Natural"  Chase Stevens in NXT?

STEVENS:  I never say never. Lots of things change over night in this sport.
