WWE NXT Results: 01/28/15

We are welcomed inside Full Sail University as Wesley Blake and Buddy Murphy make their way to the ring. We are joined on commentary by Tom Phillips, Jason Albert, and Alex Riley. They talk about the upset victory by Blake & Murphy over the Vaudevillians. The Lucha Dragon make their way out to the ring as Albert asks if the Lucha Dragons may feel a little disrespected.

Blake & Murphy vs. The Lucha Dragons for the NXT Tag Team Championships

Sin Cara and Murphy start in the ring as they exchange some go behinds and reversals in the center of the ring. Blake springboards of the rope as Sin Cara counters with a deep arm drag takeover. Blake slams Sin Cara down in the corner and tags Murphy. Both wrestlers work Sin Cara over in the corner, he springboards of the top rope and takes both wrestlers down with a double arm drag, he then drop kicks Blake. Sin Cara jumps off the middle rope and Murphy catches him with a drop kick. Murphy goes for the cover and gets a two count. Murphy gets Sin Cara back to his corner and tags Blake back in. Both wrestlers again double team Sin Cara for the five count. Blake hits a suplex then goes for a cover but Sin Cara kicks out at one. Blake applies a reverse chin lock and wears down Sin Cara. Blake throws Sin Cara into the corner and kicks him repeatedly. Blake backs off then rushes into the corner and Sin Cara catches him with a kick to the face. Sin Cara power bombs Blake and both wrestlers tag there partners. Murphy rushes towards Kalisto who jumps off the tope rope into a cross body on Murphy. Kalisto then hits a corkscrew springboard onto a cross body. He again springs off the ropes and hits a kick to the head of Murphy. Kalisto hits a summersault power bomb and gets a two count when Blake breaks it up. Sin Cara knocks Blake to the outside. Sin Cara goes to dive on him but Blake catches him and throws him into the ring apron. Blake gets the blind tag, Kalisto hits the SDS on Murphy but the legal man Blake rushes in and gets the pin for the win.

Winners: Blake & Murphy new NXT Tag Team Champions

After the match Blake & Murphy celebrate as they recap the match. Phillips talks about the contract signing between Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn tonight. We also see a graphic of the #1 Contenders Tournament bracket. They recap last week’s announcement of the Woman’s Four-Way Championship match at NXT Arrival.

We go the back where Bayley is tying up her boots. Charlotte walks in and says if Bayley pulls a stunt like she did last week she will destroy her. Bayley says she is sorry then says actually she isn’t sorry, maybe the problem is she has been to nice. She says regardless tonight they need to work together as a team, Charlotte says it will work because if Bayley crosses that line again she will not make it to Takeover.

Phillips talks about Zayn and Owens contract signing and Neville vs. Kidd.

We go to a video of Tyler Breeze. He says he lost one match and everyone expects him to be embarrassed. He says the only thing he is, is gorgeous and he is going to sit there and watch the tournament play out.

Adrian Neville makes his way to the ring. Tyson Kidd is out next.

Adrian Neville vs. Tyson Kidd #1 Contenders Tournament match

They exchange moves and reversals in the center of the ring as both men get back to their feet. Tyson gets a reverse chin lock. The back and forth goes on for a few minute as the announcers talk about how well they know each other. The pace picks up and Neville hits a hurricanrana and takes Kidd to the outside. Kidd uses all of the ten count as Neville fakes a dive to the outside. Kidd slides in and breaks up the count and goes back to the outside. Neville finally chases Kidd outside the ring and Kidd kicks him into the ring barrier then takes Neville face first into the stairs. The referee counts to ten and Neville gets back in at nine. Kidd goes for the cover but Neville grabs the ropes. We go to a break….

Back from the break Kidd is wearing down Neville in the center of the ring. Neville escapes and rolls Kidd up but he escapes and kicks Neville in the head and covers for the two count. Kidd continues to work Neville over. Neville knocks Kidd to the outside of the ring. Neville takes flight and wipes out Kidd on the outside. Back in the ring Neville hits Kidd with some kicks. Neville hits a standing moonsault for a two count. Kidd throws Neville off the ropes and hits the spinning neck breaker for the two count. Kidd rushes the corner and Neville kicks him in the face. Neville hits a huge power bomb but only gets a two count. Neville kicks Kidd hard in the face but Kidd pops up and knocks Neville into the guardrail. Kidd rolls Neville back in and goes for the cover and gets a two count. Kidd goes for the sharpshooter but Neville escapes. Neville hits a kick and rushes to the top rope and hits the Red Arrow from the top rope for the pin and the win.

Winner: Adrian Neville advances in the #1 Contenders Tournament

After the match they recap the highlights of the match. Back in the ring Adrian Neville is interviewed by the new guy. He asks Neville his thoughts on who he will face in the next round. He says this business about getting knocked down and getting back up again.

In the back we see Sash Banks and Becky Lynch. Someone of camera asks them for their thoughts. Sasha says thoughts? She then says they are going to do what they always do which is win. She says Becky knows the right thing to do at NXT Takeover is to help her win the NXT Woman’s Championship as she walks off camera. Becky says she is going to do the right thing alright she is going to walk out the NXT Woman’s Champion.

A commercial for the Austin Podcast airs.

We are in the back with Blake and &Murphy, the same voice as before off camera sys congratulations and asks what’s going through their minds. Blake says it’s an incredible feeling who would off thought that they would be champions. Murphy says they take nothing away from the Lucha Dragons. Murphy says the door is always open they will defend the belts anytime and anywhere.

Charlotte makes her way to the ring and her partner Bayley is next out. Sasha Banks and Becky Lynch then come out together.

Bayley & Charlotte vs. Becky Lynch & Sasha Banks

Bayley and Sasha start with a tie up in the corner. Bayley knocks Sasha down and goes for the two count. They exchange some moves then Bayley hits an arm drag and Sasha flies into the opposite corner. Bayley rushes into the corner but Sasha catches her with an elbow. Sasha tags Becky Lynch and Becky goes to work on Bayley, and tags Sash back in. Bayley tags Charlotte who quickly rolls up Sasha and gets a two count. Sasha tags Lynch back in. Charlotte hits some chops on Lynch and gets a two count. Charlotte hits a knee and bounces of the ropes and Bayley gets the blind tag. Bayley rushes in and hits an elbow and a clothesline as Lynch rolls to the outside. Bayley hits the baseball slide onto Lynch outside the ring. Both woman get back in the ring. Lynch distracts the referee as Sasha drives Bayleys head of the ring rope. Lynch hits a suplex and then a leg drop and another, and another and gets a two count. Lynch tags Sasha and she goes for a pin and gets a two count. Sasha starts to work on Bayleys knee and goes for a cover and Bayley kicks out at two. Sasha tags Lynch back in, but Bayley hits a suplex and tags Charlotte and Lynch tags Sasha. Charlotte hits a huge clothesline on Sasha. Charlotte hits a neck breaker than the figure four and bridges but Lynch breaks it up. Sasha hits a neck breaker but Bayley breaks it up but accidently hits Charlotte. Charlotte and Bayley exchange blows in the corner. Lynch and Banks enter and all four woman attack each other as the bell rings.

Winner: No Decision

After the bell Charlotte and Bayley fight as the referees break it up.

In the back Devin Taylor interview Finn Balor. Taylor says there is a huge buzz building over his match with Hideo Itami. Balor says he always knew it was going to happen just not this soon. He says all friendships are out the window when the NXT Championship is on the line. Itami walks in and says he brought Balor into NXT and he can take him out.

We got to a break as a commercial for WrestleMania airs.

In the back Emma says she is returning to NXT next week. She says thing didn’t work out quite how she had planned. She says it’s time for a fresh start and it starts with Carmella.

Baron Corbins music hits and he heads out to the ring. Bull Dempsey is out next and he walks quickly to the ring.

Baron Corbin vs. Bull Dempsey #1 Contenders Tournament match

Corbin hits a kick then a punch and he then slams Dempseys head into the turnbuckle. Dempsey throws him off the rope but Corbin slams him to the mat and Dempsey goes to the outside. Corbin follows Dempsey to the outside. Corbin assaults Dempsey and throws him back in. Dempsey kicks Corbin as he gets back in the ring. Corbin hits a huge right hand then a splash in the corner. Corbin hits the end of days and gets the pin for the win.

Winner: Baron Corbin advances in the #1 Contenders Tournament

They recap the match and show where the brackets stand.

W got to a break again as a commercial airs for this Thursdays SmackDown.

Back from the break Corbin is congratulated by Devin Taylor. He says next week he takes one step closer to the NXT Championship. And Adrian Neville takes one step closer to being erased. Dempsey walks up and says he has gotten lucky twice and he is out of his dam mind if he thinks it’s going to happen again. Corbin pushes him and walks away.

NXT Championship Contract Signing

William Regal is in the ring and introduces the NXT Champion Sami Zayn. Regal then introduces his opponent Kevin Owens. Owens very slowly walks to the ring as Zayn stands still and looks on. Regal says he won’t allow this contract signing to end up like every other contract signing in WWE and if either attacks the other he will cancel the match. Zayn puts his name on the contract then Regal slides it to Owens and asks him to do the same. Zayn says there is a microphone in front of Owens, and asks if he going to just stare at him or tell him and the fans why he did what he did. Zayn says he acts like the last 12 years didn’t exist, Zayn recaps there history together. Zayn says maybe he should have seen this coming. Zayn says it was all about ending up here in WWE. Zayn says he never thought on a night like R-Evolution he would do that, but it’s mute now because at Takeover he is going to beat the hell out of him. Owens picks up the microphone and says the contract says non title match. Owens says regardless of what Zayn may think what he did wasn’t personnel. He says he fights for a prize and Zayn is not the prize the belt is. The championship means more money and a better life for his wife and kids. Owens says he only fights if the contract says it’s a championship match. Regal says he already explained it was non title. Zayn says wait Regal has to make it a championship match. He says Owens won’t fight unless it is for the championship. Zayn says it’s what Owens wants, it’s what he wants, and it’s what the fans want. Regal writes in the championship stipulation and Owens signs the contract. He throws the pen at Zayn and walks out of the ring; Zayn goes after him but regal stops him as we go off the air.
