At a special ceremony tonight in Las Vegas, Nevada, WWE Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon officially announced the launch of the WWE Network.
The WWE Network was touted as the first network ever to launch with a 24/7 streaming service including an on-demand library, original programming, and other premium content that can be accessed on any device. The network will also include all monthly pay-per-view events at no additional charge, as well as original series, in-ring shows, and live pre-shows and post-shows for RAW and SmackDown. It was also announced that the network will have such items as every single WWE, WCW, and ECW pay-per-view event from over the years, as well as past episodes of RAW and SmackDown. WWE Network will also show the NXT program as well as shows such as Legends House, WWE Countdown, and WrestleMania Rewind. Other shows announced include The Monday Night War.
As far as cost goes, the WWE Network will cost only $9.99 per month with a six-month commitment.
WWE Network will be available on laptops, desktops, smartphones, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and 4 upon launch. It will be available on Xbox One and other devices later in the year. It will also be launched in the UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and Singapore by late 2014-early 2015.
The WWE Network will "go live" at 11:05 pm on Monday, February 24th and the very first pay-per-view to air live on the network will be WrestleMania 30.
