In yet another update on Eric Bischoff's situation with TNA Impact Wrestling, it's being reported that he will indeed be paid until his contract expires early in 2014, and that him being sent home was simply a way to get him out of the creative scene so they can move forward.
Regarding how people feel about it backstage, nobody is said to be upset about Bischoff leaving. He reportedly wasn't very well liked backstage and a lot of people just didn't enjoy working with him.
When TNA first brought him in, Spike TV officials were high on him simply because of his history with WCW and his knowledge of television production. Bischoff, more than even Dixie Carter or anybody else in TNA, was the main liaison between TNA and Spike TV. But the general consensus now is that Bischoff was overrated.
In another interesting note, it's being reported that TNA's Executive Vice President of Television Production John Gaburick was actually talking about bringing Bischoff back as a television character just a few weeks ago.
