At Sunday's WWE Night of Champions pay-per-view event, Ryback assisted Paul Heyman in gaining a victory over CM Punk in the Handicap Elimination Match (Intercontinental Champion Curtis Axel was Heyman's tag team partner in this match, but was eliminated early on).

This angle serves as an indication that Ryback will be the newest "Paul Heyman Guy."
