TNA Slammiversary 2012 Results

An impressive video package opened the show, with highlights of the company's first ten years. Mike Tenay referenced the key matches for the night, as Hulk Hogan's music hit and he came to ringside.

I am having technical difficulties here tonight, but we will bring you the results as quickly as possible.

Austin Aries defeated Samoa Joe via pinfall.

Hernandez pinned Kid Kash.

--------------------------------------------------------

Robbie E and Robbie T vs. Devon and Garrett Bischoff

E started off rough with Garrett, with punches and kicks in the corner, but Garrett retaliated with armdrags and punches and kicks of his own. T tagged in and Garrett tried to knock him off his feet with clotheslines. T got the advantage as Madison Rayne looked on from the entrance ramp. An elbow and a pin attempt by E yielded only a 2 count. They cut the ring off and used double teaming on the rookie. E slowed things down with a chinlock. Garrett did a desperation faceplant to E, and made the tag to Devon, who took control with puches, kicks and shoulderblocks and a diving headbutt to E. A pin attempt yielded only a 2 count on E as T broke it up. T was shortbridged by Garrett, and he landed a flying bodyblock to the outside as Devon hit the spinebuster inside on E and scored the win.

Backstage, Kazarian and Daniels were interviewed by Jeremy Borash. They talked about how they were around longer than most, and have accomplished even more than most of the entire roster over the last ten years.

Mr. Anderson vs. Jeff Hardy vs. Rob Van Dam #1 Contender's Match

Hardy flipped a coin to create a diversion and then went after both of them with punches and kicks, but was cutoff by RVD. Hardy did some corner work on the othertwo and got a 2 count on RVD. Hardy landed a flying headscissors, but Anderson hit a spinning neckbreaker. RVD took control and cornered both men. A monkeyflip attempt was countered into a rollup that yielded only a two count. Hardy got crotched on the top. Anderson threw RVD to the outside, and hit a superplax on Hardy. RVD missed a frogsplash, and all three were on their backs. They slowly got to their feet, and RVD knocked them around with a series of his specialty kicks. Hardy broke up a pin attempt after a split legged moonsault by RVD. RVD kicked Jeff in the face, and went after Anderson. They all went for a few pin attempts, including a threeway pin that ended at two. Anderson hit his forward Samoan drop on Jeff and clotheslined RVD over the top. RVD pulled Anderson to the outside, and as they brawled, Jeff leaped onto both of them. Jeff rolled RVD back in, and hit a whisper in the wind. A pinfall attempt yielded only a 2 count. They seeawed with suplex attempts, but Jeff got the better of RVD in this exchange as he landed a stiff DDT. Anderson stopped the ref's count and tossed Hardy to the outside. RVD kicked Anderson and went for a rolling thunder, but Anderson caught him and landed the Mic Check for the pin and the #1 contendership for the TNA Impact Wrestling world heavyweight title this Thursday, Live on Spike tv.

Backstage, Crimson talked with JB about his open challenge tonight. Crimson said it doesn't matter who accepts, because afterwards, he will still be undefeated.

Crimson came to the ring and he talked about being undefeated for 470 days. He reiterated that it doesn't matter who accepts his open challenge, because it will be 471 days undefeated.

Cowboy James Storm hit the scene to a decent ovation after some time away.

Cowboy James Storm vs. Crimson

Storm went right after Crimson with punches and an over the top clothesline. He suplexed him back in and mounted him and punched away at his forehead. He hit some slaps to Crimson's chest, but Crimson used Storm's duster to choke him, and he hit some punches. Storm came back strong and hit the inverted atomic drop, a Codebreaker type move and the Last Call superkick for the pin, ending Crimson's streak. The Cowboy celebrated with some beers in the ring, as the crowd went nuts. He shook one up and sprayed everyone in the first few rows.

Backstage, JB spoke with Austin Aries about what is next for him in his career. He said that he is the measuring stick, and the next level for him is to be in the main event spot. He said he has accomplished everything else so far, so it's just a matter of time.

Dixie Carter came to the ring, and addressed the crowd. She talked about how this show, from Arlington, Texas is the largest live indoor crowd in the states to date, which is fitting for their 10th anniversary. She said TNA has the best wrestlers and fans. She invited the entire roster to come out onto the entrance ramp. She thanked them all, and announced Sting as the first inductee in the TNA Hall of Fame. A video package heralded his storied career. The crowd was pleased with this selection. Sting came to the ring, and Dixie thanked him for everything, and they will have the formal induction ceremony at Bound For Glory. Sting said he was taken by surprise with this, and it is he who wanted to thank Dixie and everyone else, including the fans for supporting his career and TNA for 10 years. He said tonight it will be SHOWTIME.

Mike and Taz talked about Sting being a legend and a good man, and deserving of this honor.

Gail Kim(c) vs Brooke Tessmacher.

Gail took Tessmacher down early and showboated, but Brooke returned the favor. Gail pulled her to the outside and hit her face and back into the apron. Back in the ring. Brooke came off the center rope with a clothesline. A clothesline, a shoulderbreaker and a hammerlock slowed Brooke's offense. Gail humiliated her with a headscissor and various facial manipulations. Brooke hit a neckbreaker out of nowhere. They traded forearms and punches until Brooke landed a dropkick. Gail took her to the outside, stopped the ref's count and rolled her back in. Gail continued to take her lightly and knocked Brooke around. Gail picked her up, but Brooke rolled her up into a Victory Roll for the pin to become the new Knockouts champion.

Backstage, Bully Ray interrupted JB and went on a tirade about Joseph Park and Abyss.

Bully Ray vs. Joseph Park

Park, in a sweatsuit, took off his glasses, and missed repeated swings at Bully. Bully put both hands behind his back, and spit in Park's face, and then slapped him. Bully charged him, and Park dodged him in the corner, and landed a slap to Bully. Bully began serious offense at that point via slaps, stomps and kicks. A New York sucks chant broke out. Bully grabbed a chair at ringside, but Park kicked the rope upon his entry, crotching Bully. Park grabbed the chair, but Bully knocked him on his ass and recovered the chair, and hit Park with it several times. He took the beating to the outside, and slammed Park's face into the announce desk. Back in the ring, Bully missed a top rope flop, and Park capitilized with some punches. Bully stopped the short lived flurry of offense with a big boot. Bully grabbed a table and set it up in the ring. He grabbed a kendo stick, and went to hit Park with it. Park kicked Bully in the gut. Bully dropped the kendo stick, and Park grabbed it and busted Bully in the head. He went for a pin attempt, but it only got him a two count. Bully elbowed him to the outside. Park crawled underneath the ring, and Abyss came out about a minute later from the other side and into the ring. He was wearing his old hooded jacket, and the camera never showed his face. He startled Bully and chokeslammed him through the table. Abyss went back under the ring. and Park came back out the other side. Park looked surprised at the carnage in the ring, and quickly climbed on top of Bully for the pinfall victory.

Backstage, Bobby Roode talked about how he should be revered and celebrated tonight, and not Sting. He said he will ruin Sting's night by ending his career and retaining the title.

Hulk Hogan came to the entrance ramp. He talked about the event so far and introduced Christian Cage to a positive response.

Christian Cage walked to the ring, and grabbed a mic. He said that since he was last there, some things have changed, including the 6 sided ring, and a lot of the faces. But the one constant has been the fans, who have stuck by the company through thick and thin for years. He introduced the #1 moment in TNA History, and it was the night Sting returned in January 2006.

They aired a highlight montage of the recent developments between AJ Styles, Daniels, Kazarian and Dixie Carter.

AJ Styles and Kurt Angle vs Daniels and Kazarian(c)

The match was out of control immediately with all four in and out of the ring. Kaz and AJ paired off in the ring. AJ dropkicked Kaz to the outside, and Daniels on the apron. AJ dove on Kaz, and Angle dove on Daniels on the floor from the apron. Angle tagged in and they doubleteam suplexed Kaz, and Angle took control with kicks in the corner on Kaz. Kaz raked the eyes and they forced him into their corner. Spinning backheel kick took Angle off his feet, but Kurt retaliated with a big backdrop. Angle tagged out to AJ. AJ got hung upside down on the top rope, torqueing his knee, after a kick from Kaz. He fell, and Daniels rolled him back in, as Kaz and Daniels cut the ring off and doubleteamed AJ. Daniels landed a stomp to the chest from the top. A double team reverse flapjack yielded a two count as Angle broke it up. AJ reversed a suplex attempt on Daniels into a neckbreaker. Angle tagged in, and suplexed them both all over the ring. Kaz broke a pin attempt out of an Angle Slam. Angle applied an anklelock on Daniels, but Kaz kicked him in the face to break it up. Angle backdropped out of an Angel's Wings, and tagged AJ, who hit some of his signature moves, but was stopped by another Kaz kick. Angle landed another suplex, and AJ landed a Tiger Driver but only got a 2 on Kaz. Afterwards, AJ set Kaz up for a top rope suplex, but was shoved off. Angle made up for it and hit the belly to belly, but was stopped by a Judo takedown from Daniels, who missed the BME shortly thereafter. AJ hit the pele on Daniels and Angle went for a splash on Kaz. Daniels pulled the ref out. AJ dove on Daniels on the floor. Angle sunk in the ankle lock and grapevined the leg, forcing Kaz to tap. AJ Styles and Kurt Angle - New World Tag Team Champions. What a wrestling match. This is what it's all about. These four worked their asses off, and the crowd ate it up. They re-capped the match with a highlight reel of high spots from the match, and returned live to show the new tag team champions celebrating in the ring with their title belts in the air for all to see.

They showed a montage recognizing the challenger, Sting, for tonight's main event. They did a tale of the tape graphic, and a bullet points, including Roode's record breaking title reign, and Sting's recent time away for training, and two victories over Roode in the last two weeks.

Bobby Roode(c) vs. Sting

As is tradition for main events at TNA/Impact Wrestling, Jeremy Borash handled formal introductions, which I personally like, as it adds to the big match feel -  which is the point, I know, but is a nice touch, just the same.

Sting was amped and ready to fight, as Roode took his time removing his robe on the floor, and handing the title to the ref. Roode toyed with Sting, by playing cat and mouse, until he cut Sting off with some stomps. Sting fought him off, and Roode escaped a Scorpion Deathlock attempt. Sting followed him, and threw Roode into the guard rail. Roode begged for mercy in the ring, but Sting had no sympathy, as he punched and kicked him, and landed a hiptoss. On the outside again, Sting followed the champ and slammed his face into the ringside steps, but Roode snapped Sting's neck on the top rope upon re-entry. Roode capitalized with kicks and chops in the corner, and a snap mare/neck and head roll combo. Sting made a brief comeback, that was cut short with a boot in the corner, and a subsequent sleeper hold. Sting fought out of it with elbows, and he applied a sleeper of his own, but Roode countered with a back suplex. Sting stopped Roode on the top rope and landed a suplex. Sting applied the Scorpion Deathlock, but Roode eventually crawled to the bottom rope, forcing the break. Sting beat him up around ringside, by introducing his face to the guardrail a few times the hard way. Sting rolled Roode in and he immediately rolled right back out, but Sting hit the Stinger Splash onto Roode up against the guardrail. Roode climbed on top of the broadcast table and Sting applied the Scorpion Deathlock. Back in the ring, Roode produced a beer bottle to smash on Sting's head. The ref grabbed it and as he was removing it, Roode grabbed another one and he busted it over Sting's head, bloodying him. Roode crawled on top of Sting and the ref made the 3 count. Sting was pissed as he came to, and he hit the ref, and clotheslined Roode over the top rope and dragged him up the ramp and dropped him with a Death Drop off the ramp through some boxes, leaving him in rough shape. Some officials came to check on Roode, as a bloody Sting walked away in anger to close the show.
