The Oklahoma Athletic Commission has banned all “combative sports” (pro wrestling, MMA, and boxing) indefinitely. The banning which comes into effect from March 31st is a direct results of an impending lawuit from UFC who want to appeal against a 4% pay-per-view tax imposed by the state. The ruling is expected to effect 200 events that happen each year across Oklahoma.
Oklahoma's own Jim Ross retweed this WNS news item and said "The Game's Not Over" and added: "I think things will be rectified in a good way."
Below is a copy of the commission letter sent to local promoters.
