WWE Smackdown Results (10/21)

Smackdown this week comes to us from Mexico City, Mexico for the very first time and we kick things off with the WWE Champion Alberto Del Rio coming out to the ring with Ricardo Rodriguez. Del Rio says tonight he was scheduled to compete against Big Show but unfortunately that’s not going to happen.  He then throws to footage from Monday night when John Cena laid him out with the ring steps. Del Rio said it was his dream to come to Mexico and compete for all the fans but John Cena robbed him of that opportunity and robbed all the Mexican fans of that opportunity but he swears he will make Cena pay.  He will walk into Vengeance as the WWE Champion and he will walk out of Vengeance as the WWE Champion and as the greatest Mexican in all of history.  Smackdown GM Teddy Long came out and said earlier today Del Rio was checked out by WWE physicians and he was cleared to compete.  Long said he believes Del Rio is just trying to weasel his way out of this match.  Long says Del Rio claims he wants to compete in front of the Mexican fans but he believes Del Rio is just afraid to wrestle The Big Show.  Del Rio says he will put his arm around Big Show and make him tap.  Long then took a poll and asked the fans if they wanted to see Alberto Del Rio vs Big Show.  Long then says it’s official tonight it will be Alberto Del Rio vs Big Show. Long leaves and Del Rio is still in the ring as Mark Henry comes out for his match.

John Morrison vs Mark Henry

The referee signals for the bell and Morrison starts out with a kick and a punch to Henry.  Morrison with a series of punches but Henry just overpowers him and pushes him so hard that Morrison falls through the ropes to the floor.  Henry then exits the ring, stalking Morrison yelling at him to get up.  Henry then picks Morrison up and presses his head against the ringpost.  Morrison with an elbow but it doesn’t faze Henry.  Henry releases Morrison.  Morrison falls to the floor. Henry tosses Morrison back in and lifts Morrison’s head back pressing his neck against the bottom rope.  Henry back in, and a kick to Morrison.  Henry picks Morrison up and delivers a headbutt.  Henry working over the head and neck area of John Morrison. Morrison to one knee, delivers an elbow to Henry followed by a series of punches.  Morrison off the ropes and Henry catches him with an elbow.  Henry has him in the corner, and Henry charges but Morrison gets the boots up.  Morrison to the top rope and mule kick jumping over Henry’s head.  Springboard off the ropes and he hits Henry with an enziguri kick.  Morrison off the ropes again and another kick to the World Champion.  Morrison looking for some Starship Pain and he hits it 1…..Henry re-grouping the corner, and Morrison catches him with an elbow. Morrison off the ropes, trying to take Henry’s legs out but falls to the mat.  Henry stomping on Morrison, picks him up, World’s Strongest Slam 1….2…3

Backstage: Vickie is with Christian in Teddy Long’s office and she says she has a great relationship with John Laurinaitis and says he gave Jack Swagger and Dolph Ziggler a tag team title match for this Sunday.  She then suggested her and Christian should talk about some kind of business relationship and then they can talk about embarrassing stories about Edge. Teddy walks in and asks what they’re doing in his office and what’s so funny.  Christian says it’s none of Long’s business but since he’s asking, Christian says Teddy Long is what’s so funny.  Teddy is the laughinstock of Smackdown because he won’t give Christian or the people what they want.  Teddy says that’s where Christian’s wrong. He’s going to give Christian what he wants. One more match.  This Sunday against Sheamus.  Christian gets mad and says that’s not what he was talking about and says he should be the World Heavyweight Champion and storms off.  Long then says he sees Vickie got what she wanted and now he’s going to get what he wants.  Dolph Ziggler will defend the U.S. Title this Sunday against Zack Ryder.  Vickie asks if Dolph Ziggler has to compete twice on Sunday and Teddy says she catches on quick and leaves.  Ryder walks in and says Woo Woo Woo You Know It and Vickie starts screaming like a banshee

Wade Barrett vs Daniel Bryan

Bryan starts with a waistlock on Barrett. And Barrett with a punch and another punch.  Barrett off the ropes and a kneedrop to Bryan 1….2…Irish whip, Bryan into the ropes, Barrett puts his head down and Bryan catches him with a boot.  Bryan off the ropes, Barrett catches him on his shoulders, looking for The Wasteland but a counter by Bryan into a crucifix pin 1….2…Bryan looking for the LeBell Lock, irish whip by Barrett and a sideslam by Barrett 1…2…Barrett choking Bryan out on the using the middle rope. Barrett turning Bryan around and choking him out using the top rope.  Bryan dazed on the apron, Barrett off the rope and he catches Bryan with a big boot sending him to the floor. Barrett follows Bryan outside, picking him up ramming him back first into the ring apron.  Barrett tosses him back into the ring 1….2….Reverse chinlock by Barrett.  Bryan fights to his feet, and throws a series of punches at Barrett and Barrett drives a knee into Bryan.  Barrett whips Bryan into the corner, Bryan catches him with the boots to the face.  Bryan off the second rope and hits a dropkick on Barrett 1….2….and a kneelift by Barrett 1…2….and Barrett with mounted punches on Bryan and Barrett intimidating referee Scott Armstrong.  Barrett grabbing Bryan’s arms locking him in a submission hold.  Bryan tries to counter but a kick by Barrett.  Irish whip by Barrett, Bryan climbs the side of the corner and backflips landing on his feet, bouncing off the ropes, duck under Barrett, from the other side and a mid collision with both superstars down.  Bryan getting fired up now, runs across the ring and hits Barrett with a dropkick in the corner 1….2….Irish whip, reversed by Barrett duck under by Bryan and a back a kick by Barrett.  Abdominal stretch by Wade Barrett picks Bryan up and slams him to the mat 1…2…Barrett stomping on Bryan. A series of punches by Barrett and a kick before the referee forces Barrett to back off.  Barrett looking to capitalize runs into a boot by Bryan. Bryan off the second rope, caught by Barrett.  The Wasteland 1….2…3

Dolph Ziggler & Christian vs Zack Ryder & Sheamus

Ziggler & Ryder start out, waistlock by Ryder and Ziggler catches him with an elbow and forearm across the back.  Ziggler putting the boots to Ryder.  Ziggler picks Ryder up, tags in Christian and Christian with a boot to Ryder.  A slap to Ryder and Christian taunting Sheamus, Ryder sneaks in from behind and rolls him up 1….Ryder with a series of punches, irish whip by Ryder and Christian into the ropes and an elbow by Ryder.  Christian gets up and tosses Ryder out of the ring and Ziggler with a cheap shot on the outside.  Christian tosses Ryder back in.  Tag to Ziggler and a punch to Ryder.  Ziggler picks Ryder up and hits a neckbreaker 1….2….Ryder looking for a tag, Ziggler picks him up, a punch blocked by Ryder and Ryder hits one of his own. Another punch blocked by Ryder but Ziggler hits a dropkick 1….2….Ryder reaching for a tag but Ziggler doing a good job of preventing it.  Another neckbreaker coming up, countered by Ryder.  Roll up 1…2….Ziggler holding Ryder’s leg dragging him to his corner and Ziggler tags Christian.  Christian putting the boots to Ryder.  Christian picks Ryder up and rams his head into the turnbuckle. And Christian with a series of slaps and punches.  Christian charges and Ryder gets the boots up.  Ryder makes the tag to Sheamus and Christian tags in Ziggler.  And Sheamus hits a series of clotheslines.  Scoop and a slam to Ziggler.  Sheamus charges, Ziggler gets the boot up. Ziggler looking for an opening, Sheamus counters it into the Irish Curse backbreaker across the knee 1….2…Sheamus looking for the Celtic Cross.  Let’s Ziggler go, going after Christian who slides out under the bottom rope.  And Ziggler jumps Sheamus from behind but Sheamus shakes it off and delivers The Brogue Kick 1….2….3

In-ring segment: Cody Rhodes says 2 weeks ago on RAW he didn’t just humiliate Randy Orton but he exorcised a demon. We then throw to footage of a post attack from RAW 2 weeks ago where Cody Rhodes beat Orton down and placed a paper bag over his head. Rhodes said that demon didn’t come as a result of an RKO or a scar on the side of his head that will most likely be with him for the rest of his days because of a grisly attack with the ring bell. Rhodes then asks if he’s supposed to pretend that Randy Orton didn’t inflict serious emotional damage to him long ago. The Viper’s venom has contaminated the blood that runs through Cody Rhodes’ veins since their days together in Legacy. Rhodes says one thing his father taught him is that man is basically good. How wrong.  Man is basically evil, twisted and especially selfish.  Rhodes says Orton abused him and rewarded his loyalty with a swift kick to the skull and that was baggage he had to carry. It was like a diseased albatross slowly rotting around his neck and when he finally got his chance and got a paper bag of his own and placed it over Orton’s head that was a release.  He could stand back and laugh at the fact that it was Randy Orton’s pride that had been snatched away in front of a million judging eyes. And in that one moment, his and Randy Orton’s lives had officially intersected except this time, Cody Rhodes is the champion.  He’s the one who’s smiling and has everything going for him and Orton is an embarassed megalomaniac with no new tricks. In two days, they’ll face one another at Vengeance but he thinks that can wait. Rhodes then called Randy out and wants Randy to admit a few things.  He wants Orton to admit he was wrong about him, that he made a mistake and that he got what he deserved.  Orton’s music hits and out comes the Viper.  Randy says the mistake he made was letting Rhodes breathe after Cody cost him the world title. Not once but twice! The mistake Cody Rhodes made was assuming that by placing a paper bag over Randy Orton’s head Orton would be humiliated.  Rhodes thinks he changed Orton but Randy says the only thing Cody Rhodes changed is the amount of torture Randy Orton will put him through at Vengeance.  Being hit upside the head with the ring bell will pale in comparison to what Orton will do to Rhodes this Sunday and Orton then asked Cody if he’d like a little preview. Orton then dropped the mic and was about to enter the ring but not before knocking out Cody Rhodes’ baggers giving Rhodes the opportunity to hit a baseball slide on Orton.  Rhodes slides out of the ring and rams Orton shoulder first into the ringpost.  Rhodes tosses him back into the ring and goes to swing, blocked by Orton and the two trade punches and it’s Orton getting the better of Rhodes hitting him with a forearm to the back followed by an uppercut.  Orton kicks one of the baggers leaving him draped over the middle rope, and back body drops Rhodes over the top rope to the floor.  DDT on the bagger!  Orton slides out of the ring in hot pursuit of Rhodes and the fight resumes with Rhodes getting the upperhand over Orton.  Orton then drags Cody to the corner, places his head on the ringsteps looking to stomp on Rhodes’ head.  The bagger tries to stop Orton and pays dearly for it with a stomp on the head.  Orton re-enters the ring and Rhodes grabs his title and runs up the ramp to the entrance.  Orton grabs one of the baggers and hits an RKO

Sin Cara (black) vs Sin Cara (blue)

It’s mask vs mask.  Sin Cara blue vs Sin Cara black and Sin Cara (black) starts with a kick and a forearm to the back.  A kick by S.C. black to a downed S.C. blue.  And Sin Cara black putting the boots to Sin Cara blue.  Black picking up blue ramming his head into the turnbuckle.  Irish whip by S.C. black, springboard backflip by blue, duck, springboard off the ropes and a hurricanrana to S.C. black and Sin Cara black slides out of the ring.  Blue off the ropes, up to the top, and a high-flying cross body onto the Sin Cara black.  Sin Cara azul, tosses S.C. negro back into the ring.  S.C. azul with a springboard dive off the ropes cross body onto S.C. negro 1….2…and it’s azul taking over with a series of kicks.  Irish whip by azul, reversed by negro, ducked by azul and a hurricanrana.  Sin Cara azul in control with a series of kicks to Sin Cara negro.  Off the ropes, springboard move and a dropkick by Sin Cara negro 1….2….Irish whip by negro and a sunset flip by azul trying to take negro down but negro not budging attempting to tear the mask off of Sin Cara azul.  Azul counters with another series of kicks, negro off the ropes, back body drop by Azul over the top rope to the floor

Sin Cara Negro back in, and a pumphandle backbreaker to Sin Cara Azul 1….2…and now Negro has Azul in a submission hold. Azul fighting to his feet and Azul firing back with body shots to Negro, off the ropes, and Azul takes Negro down with a hurricanarana and Negro fires back with a clothesline 1….2…Negro locking Azul’s arm in a submission move.  Negro setting Azul in place for a camel clutch.  Azul counters and throws Negro off but Negro quick to his feet and a boot to Azul’s head. Negro with the irish whip, Azul off the ropes and a backbreaker by Negro 1….2….wristlock by Negro tying Azul’s arm behind his back, a scoop and a backbreaker into a pin 1….2…Negro back to the stretch submission hold.  Azul to his feet delivering a series of elbows.  Off the ropes, Negro sidesteps and Azul lands on his back.  Negro back to the camel clutch and the mask is starting to come off of Azul but countered and Negro is thrown off and Negro attacking Azul and a hip check by Negro to Azul.  Azul in the corner, Negro punches him down to the mat and Negro with kicks to Azul’s head, climbs out of the ring onto the apron and jump over the ropes and a springboard stomp off of Azul’s head.  Backflip attempt by Negro, Azul moves out of the way and Negro hits the corner.  Azul with kicks to Negro.  Wristlock, and Azul walking up the turnbuckle along the top rope and an armdrag by Azul and Negro goes flying across the ring.  Azul off the ropes, springboard from the other side and another armdrag to Negro.  Hurricanrana into a pin by Azul 1….2….Wheelbarrow pin by Azul 1…2…Both Sin Caras to their feet and Negro drives a knee into Azul and a punch.  Irish whip by Negro Azul off the ropes, Negro catches him on his shoulders and drops him back first to the mat 1…2…and Negro putting the boots to Azul.  Negro to the top, and Azul to his feet and a kick to the head of Negro.  Azul to the top and a hurricanrana from the top rope.  Azul back to the top rope but has second thoughts and hits a baseball slide into Negro.  Now Azul goes up to the top and Azul hits the swanton 1…2…Azul picks Negro up and Negro with a punch and a forearm.  Negro goes for a back suplex, Azul flips over his shoulder, off the ropes and a hurricanarana into an armlock submission and Sin Cara Negro taps out!!

In-ring segment: Beth Phoenix and Natalya are in the ring and Beth says some people say her and Natalya are jealous of the so-called barbie doll Divas. Sure they may grace the pages of Maxim magazine and walk the red carpet of hollywood but they’re not jealous and they’re not angry at any of them.  They’re angry at all the fans because that’s what all the fans want to see.  Not only are Natalya and Beth prettier than all the other Divas but they also dominate them in the ring.  And then they throw to a video packages highlighting their domination over the other Divas.  Natalya then said every teardrop that hits the ground is a direct message to all the Divas. Pain is beauty and there is nothing more beautiful than watching barbie dolls beg for mercy. Beth then says she agrees and hopes Eve is paying very close attention because this next message is directly for her.  Beth says at Vengeance it’s Eve’s turn to cry and they’re going to make her scream just like all the rest because they started it and on Sunday they’re going to finish it.  This brings Eve out.  Eve says everyone knows the real reason they started all this. Beth and Natalya made this all about looks.  Eve used to think they were two beautiful women until the past few months when they proved how ugly they are on the inside.  Eve then says there is one thing she needs to clarify.  She is not a barbie doll and there is nothing they can do to break her. Natalya and Beth then try and provoke Eve by taunting her about Vengeance and making her cry.  Beth tells Eve to cry for all the people and Eve pushes her down and exits the ring.

Big Show vs Alberto Del Rio

Lock up and Show throws Del Rio down.  Show with a forearm to the back and he backs Del Rio into the corner and delivers a huge slap to the chest.  Scoop and a slam by Show. Show picks Del Rio up and delivers a headbutt. A kick by Del Rio.  Show hooks Del Rio’s arms and tosses him to the mat. Show has Del Rio on the ropes choking him out.  Del Rio in the corner and show delivers a series of body blows and caps it off with a boot to the head.  Show picks Del Rio up and delivers a powerful body blow.  Del Rio to his feet and Show hits another one.  And Show planting his boot on the side of Del Rio’s head against the bottom rope and referee Scott Armstrong telling Show to break it putting the five count on Show.  Del Rio sliding to the outside, taking a breather.  Show reaches over the ropes and pulls Del Rio up to the ring apron but Del Rio counters with a hot shot snapping Show’s neck off the top rope. Del Rio up to the top and Show chops him down.  And Del Rio rolls to the outside once more

Back in the ring, Show with a reverse chinlock on Del Rio.  Show covering Del Rio’s face with his hand, gets up and hits a legdrop on Del Rio 1….2….Show choking Del Rio out against the ropes and again Scott Armstrong warning Show to break the hold and get him off the ropes. Irish whip by Show but Del Rio comes back with a dropkick to the leg and Show down to one knee. Del Rio with a kick to the face and now it’s Del Rio in control keeping Show down with a series of kicks.  Del Rio grabs the arm and delivers an armbreaker to The Big Show 1….another kick and Show grabs Del Rio’s leg tripping him up.  Del Rio gets up and Show chops him down following up with a clothesline and a shoulderblock.  Irish whip into the corner and a back splash into the corner, off the ropes and Del Rio goes down with a shoulderblock.  Del Rio gets to his feet and Show grabs him by the throat setting up for the chokeslam, countered by Del Rio who hits the chop block on Show.  Del Rio gets the cross armbreaker on Show and Show trying to stay in this match, refusing to tap out.  Show to his knees, and Del Rio still has it locked in.  Show to his feet, lifts ADR in the air and slams Del Rio back to the mat.  Both superstars are down and the referee putting the 10 count, Show back to his feet first and ADR walks into another massive hand wrapped around his throat and from behind, Rodriguez jumps onto the Big Show’s back as the referee calls for the bell.  And Show hits a huge right on Rodriguez knocking him out and another W.M.D. on Del Rio knocking him out.  Mark Henry coming out now and Show knocks him out
