WWE staff are reportedly facing “absolute disarray” as uncertainty hangs over Crown Jewel’s planned trip to Saudi Arabia.
The November 7 event remains scheduled for Riyadh, but WrestleVotes says people backstage are still waiting to learn whether the show will go ahead there or move elsewhere.
Speaking during a recent Q&A, WrestleVotes cited a longtime WWE source who described growing frustration among those preparing to travel.
“This is a guy I was talking to Saturday night, very knowledgeable, been in WWE for a long time, and has a good pulse on what’s going on there. It is absolute disarray within the people who work there. Everything, including going into this PLE, not knowing if it’s happening or if it’s gonna move. Waiting on a moment’s notice to see if things are changed.”
According to WrestleVotes, talent and staff have little control over the situation, with any decision resting with senior management. He also voiced concerns about their safety.
“It’s really from the top down where these decisions are gonna be made. The fact that everything going on with Saudi Arabia is chaotic and dangerous, and the potential of talent being sent over there in planes, God forbid something happens to them, the situation is really scary. It’s a very helpless feeling to not have any safeguards in place.”
Public promotion has continued. Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority chairman Turki Alalshikh encouraged fans to buy tickets on October 26, highlighting Roman Reigns vs. Sami Zayn for the WWE Crown Jewel Championship.
Ari Emanuel has previously said a team is monitoring developments daily and considering alternatives if the event cannot take place in Saudi Arabia.
Crown Jewel remains scheduled for November 7 at Riyadh Season Stadium, with no official announcement of a move or cancellation. WrestleVotes’ report suggests those expected to travel are still waiting for clarity.
